Story of a Girl

A face masks her,

From true emotions,

Her battle scars,

Covered under her sleeves.

Everyone shoots arrows,

Aiming for her heart,

She stands in the open,

Her heart unguarded.

She becomes a masochist,

Dying, sinking slowly

She smiles and says good byes,

Even though her eyes are deperate.

Further, deeper, darker, colder,

She sinks,

Underground where no one,

Ever exists.

A scar on her wrist,

Reminds her,

That pain is the only way,

To prove she exists.

She cuts,

For her enemies,

She cuts,

For her hatred towards herself.

A hand reaches down,

Underground and,

Pulls her back,

To reality.

Back to being open,

Back to wounds,

Back to pain,

Back to being forgotten.

Her battle armor,

Has been bruised and broken,

Many years ago,

It cannot be fixed.

She slips into darkness,

And takes of her mask,

Tears fall down,

And unto her river of misery.

She wants it to end,

A bullet through her head,

And she will be finished,

Gone from this hell war.

She cannot do it,

For someone promised her,

Dawn will rise,

To light up her darkness.

She hopes and prays for it,

For each day she is sinking,

Into the hole of darkness,

 Into giving up.
