Chapter Thirty-Two

~Raven's POV~

I woke up the next morning feeling even more sore than I had felt the night before. I shifted slightly and opened my eyes, squinting slightly as a headache hit me. 'Great, human healing means human hangover. Just my luck.' I thought to myself before attempting to figure out what had happened last night.

The first thing I noticed was how warm and comfortable I felt, the second was the feeling of an arm wrapped around my waist, and the third, 'Oh god.'  I whined to myself as I realized that I was only wearing a bra and underwear. I turned my head slightly to see Damon, fast asleep behind me.

I sighed lightly and picked up his arm, gently sliding out of bed so as not to wake him up. I stood up and stretched, wincing slightly before taking a look around. Empty alcohol bottle and clothes were strewn about the room and about half of my furniture was knocked over. "Well done Raven," I mumbled to myself as I made my way into the bathroom, "You're just a bundle of brilliant choices lately."

I walked up to the mirror and sighed lightly, taking in my appearance. I was still ill looking and paler than normal, the cuts on my face not yet healed. What I did notice were new random bruises and, "Oh my god." I muttered, throwing an exasperated look at the still sleeping figure, "You bit me? Really?" I said, eying the bite mark just above my hip before noticing one on my wrist and on my shoulder as well.

I ran a hand through my hair before moving and turning on the shower. Once the water was warm I stepped in, hissing slightly as the water hit my wounds but then relaxing and washing myself off. After a while I stepped out an squeezed my hair out, wrapping it up in one towel before wrapping another around my body. I stepped out of the bathroom and made my way over to my closet, glancing at the still sleeping Damon as I went.

"Man you can sleep through anything, can't you?" I sighed as I turned back to the closet, contemplating what to wear, "One would think that being a vampire with super senses would make that a bit difficult."

There was the sound of movement behind me and then two arms wrapped around my waist, "I resent that," came a sleepy voice from behind me. I turned my head and saw Damon, resting his chin on my shoulder, "Besides, maybe I'm just tired from all the fun we had last night." He teased, waggling his eyebrows at me.

I rolled my eyes and pulled myself out of his grip, "Yeah, about that..." I started, and Damon rolled his eyes.

"Oh please, don't worry." He said with a shrug, "We're just two friends who got drunk over our misery and then slept together." He grinned slightly, "You know, that's my favorite kind of friendship."

"Fine, so long as it stays that way. Friendship. Because I do not need to get myself into something so quickly again. I just need to be alone for a while. Well alone-ish." I added as I glanced back at Damon, who had given me a nod before he moved to lay on my bed again in just his boxers.

I sighed lightly in relief, I definitely wasn't looking for another relationship and obviously neither was Damon. We both just needed a distraction from how terrible life could get. I rummaged around before I pulled a black, pink, and green floral skater dress out of my closet and held it up in front of the mirror before giving it an approving nod.

I paired it with some ripped black tights, black Doc Martens, my usual leather jacket and jewelry, along with a tattoo choker and silver rings on basically every finger. "Are you just going to lounge around in your underwear all day?" I asked Damon as I went into the bathroom to do my makeup and get dressed.

"Well what would you have me do?" Damon asked, an amused tone to his voice, "I mean, I'm sure I could find some way to amuse myself in this town. It /is/ time for breakfast after all."
