His demeanor changed immediately. His stony look transformed to one of slight amusement as he faced her. The next line would be an obvious decline to the absurd question.
The corners of his lip quirked up. "Why would I ever be with her when I could be with a girl such as yourself." my eyes widened at the direct insult. Unlike me, Elana blushed at the compliment. She lowered her face a bit and and batted her eyes flirtatiously. Her eyes were a weird shade of blue because of contacts covering her black eyes. I, on the other hand, had dark brown eyes that bordered black unless direct light transformed them into a milk chocolate color.
Okay. It doesn't matter that he just insulted me. Like, I'll never see him again right? Right. besides, it's not like I'm a real catch. Far from it actually. Unless you consider a semi chubby, for- eyed, brace face cute.
My mind quickly zoned out from their conversation and returned to the insistent thrumming of, well, I was about to find out.
I was 95 percent sure it was coming from just behind that wall. If only I knew a way around it! Without further thought, I turned on my heal and disappeared around the corner.
However. That only caused the thrumming to decrease its intensity."Gah!" I groaned annoyed. There must be someway to reach it! No I ther option remained but to return to where I first pinpointed it.
Giving an audible sigh of relief, I saw that neither Elisa nor pretty boy awaited me. As I walked over to the wall, I reverently placed my hand on the pale beige wall. I expected to feel vibrations, yet what I actually felt was much more intriguing. It was as if energy was circulating my body with just that simple touch. It was strong, powerful, and ... familiar? How could that be? Never before have I ever experienced such a magnificent oddity such as this.
What would I see if I were able to phase through the wall and be intangible for just a moment? Childishly, I let myself pretend that it was possible and gently pushed my hand against the beige barrier. Suddenly, I was falling forward. Unable to catch myself. I braced myself for the impending collision my head would face.
Out of nowhere, a warm hand seized mine trying to keep me from falling. Unfortunately, it wasn't strong enough and began to fall with me. There was a dizzying blur and a glimpse of red hair until finally, we hit the ground with a thump.
