The anxiety ripped through my body like a jolt of electricity. At this point Marco and I were still underage and if the cops caught us out this late we could get into some serious trouble.
He rolled down the window and to no surprise there stood a police officer.
"Good evening, I'm officer Palmer can I see your IDs please." he said rather curtly.
Both of us handed over our drivers licenses and told him our ages.
"Both of you are out rather late. Do you know when curfew is for minors?"
"I thought it was 2 a.m." Marco answered rather innocently.
"Nope for you two it'd be 12:30."
"I'm so sorry officer, we were just... talking. I guess time got away from us." He lied.
"No problem" the officer waved his hand casually, "I'm just going to ask you both to head home"
"Of course. Thank you."
After he had rolled up the window Marco and I both sighed heavily with relief.
"My entire life just flashed before my eyes... I definitely need to get out of the house more often" I said jokingly.
He laughed, "Well that could have been bad, thanks to my charming smile I saved the day"
I snorted, "I can see your ego inflating by the second. Let's just go back to Ashton's okay?"
"Aren't you going to finish?" He asked sheepishly.
My mouth hung open in disbelief but I was obedient.
Next thing I know we're parked on the top floor of the local hospitals parking garage.
"MARCO I TOLD YOU TO TAKE ME BACK WHAT THE HELL!"
He laughed, "Don't be mad I wanted you all to myself for a bit longer."
After we spent another hour together he took me back to Ashton's. I thanked him for a good time and headed back into the toxic abyss of teenage alcoholism. I thought my night was over but of course that was only the beginning.
While I was away my drink had been tainted with tequila and everyone was having too good of a time to care that I didn't want to drink. Ashton and his brother Isaiah were insisted that I take a shot of whiskey and even held my head in place to do so. Dru was running throughout the house completely shit faced and I was starting to feel intoxicated.
What happened next was completely out of my control. To explain things further let's take a look at my height. I am around 5 feet 1 inch tall with a fairly small upper half. Ashton's brother Isaiah was at least 6 foot and was quite larger than I am.
Feeling a strong arm wrap around my waist at one point during the night I was lifted onto his lap. He then proceed to latch himself on to my neck like a leech. I wasn't sure what was happening but I could not pull myself away. It was then that Dru started screaming.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GET OFF OF HER OH MY GOD" He was smacking Isaiah as he yelled at him.
Isaiah let me go and Dru turned his attention to me "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT GO IN THE OTHER ROOM I SWEAR TO GOD"
I shriveled back like a small child getting chastised in a grocery store, "I'm sorry I'm so sorry please don't be mad." I repeated over and over.
The situation was resolved rather quickly and the rest of the night went smoothly.
Waking up the next morning I found the huge bruise on my neck.
"WHO DID THIS!" I screamed.
"It was Isaiah. Don't you remember?" Dru replied sleepily.
"I don't remember anything."
"I can't believe you got a hickey from my brother." Ashton groaned.
I didn't have time to worry about what happened the previous night as I quickly realized that I had to work that afternoon. I said my goodbyes and ran home to quickly get ready.
At home I pressed makeup over the hickey trying to cover it as best as I could.
Arriving at work just in time I was immediately caught in my lie.
"Ooooooh what's that?" Holly questioned me in the employee locker room.
"What? Nothing. I have no idea what your talking about." I replied innocently.
"Is that a hickey?! Did you get a hickey?! Who's it from? Tell me!"
"No no I was... Punch in the neck..."
This was horrible. I am a horrible liar.
"Yeah okay..." She eyed me suspiciously.
To my surprise the whole store began buzzing about my supposed hickey. I tried so hard to hide it but even my manager couldn't help but make fun of me.
By the end of my shift I was thoroughly embarrassed and couldn't wait to get home and hide from the rest of the world.
