BROKEN GENERATION

Our broken generation.

They stand in their perfect formation,
They whisper through the congregation,
Thinking we can't hear them.
'they're the broken generation,'

Discrimination, Destroying nations,
Deliberation.
Blaming us, the broken generation.

Helplessness and devastation,
All we've felt; is isolation.

Not adults yet, but not kids either.
Be behaved, be respectful.
But our role models were neither.

Jokes about teenagers,
Like we aren't people, we're just there,
Like why can't you admit,
That this game you're playing isn't fair.

You're hypocritical, and think you're better,
Only because of your age.
But you see a homeless youth, before you see
A kid who could have the answer to cure AIDS.

It's just an age, it's just a colour, that much we see.
Give us some respect and time, and we'll show you,
just how great this broken generation can be.

You think nothing will become of us.
But we will all show you.
Just how much better,
We –the broken generation– can do.
