* I'll probably make this pretty random consisting of convo's with myself or short stories

The bombs echoed around the battle field, I ran with the cold metal in my hands. My breath was rapid as the others ran ahead of me.

"Grenade!" One yelled, I quickly looked back and saw the bomb right at my feet. Fear racked my body. I looked around afraid.

Then I saw someone familiar,  He ran to me throwing himself to me. He pushed me away from the grenade..he landed on it.

My helmet flew off my head as I was dropped to the floor. He looked at the person who threw himself..it was my brother.

I yelled for him to run, but it was too late. The bomb blew and he looked at me with the final look of...relief.

I yelled for him "NO!" I yelled trying to run to him but I was only pulled back by the others "WE NEED TO GO!" One of them.

Tear welled up in my eyes "No..Please!" I yelled, they grabbed my body and pushed forward. I grabbed my gun but I kept on looking back.

His eyes were all I could remember. The others were running with fear while I ran with regret. He was the only thing keeping me on this field of death.

A smile, his smile "Come on! We need to help our country, Big bro!" He said with grin "Alright, alright c'mon" I said chuckling as he led the way to the tent.

I was brought into a examination room once I signed. They checked my height, weight, eyesight, and strength.

I passed, so I waited outside for my younger brother. Once he came out he smiled at me with pride "You pas-" "I PASSED BROTHER I PASSED!" He said happily.

I hugged him "Yes you did.." I said softly, silently knowing what we had gotten ourselves into.

We walked to camp with pride, talking only at times since training drained us. Then when I was relaxing, he came up to me.

He didn't look very happy "Brother...You didn't tell me we were going to..kill people" He said with fear, his eyes quivering slightly.

"You didn't know that? Freedom doesn't come without sparing a few souls" I said briefly "Why can't we just do this peacefully?" He said with confusion.

"People don't understand the difference between peace and violence" I said looking at him with honesty.

"Then i'll drop my gun" He said "You'll get shot" I said, now sitting up "It's better then killing people, brother!" He yelled

"But you'll die!" I yelled back "It's better that way if I can't even fight without the fear of killing someone with regret" He said sternly.

"Then maybe you should have stayed home and thought about this before believing "Saving our country" was right" I snarled.

He looked at me with shock before turning into anger "It changed you too..." He whispered before walking away.

Realization soon came after so did regret...

War had started and during that time I never looked at him. If it was for help or if we only spoke I never looked at him not once.

I walked the battled field with cold metal in my hands, war screams were heard and it had begun.

I began to run as fast as I could, only fear was in my mind. The bombs echoed around the battle field, I ran with the cold metal in my hands. My breath was rapid as the others ran ahead of me.

"Grenade!" One yelled, I quickly looked back and saw the bomb right at my feet. Fear racked my body. I looked around afraid.

His eyes were all I could remember. The others were running with fear while I ran with regret. He was the only thing keeping me on this field of death.

I stopped in place, looking at the dust filled sky. I placed the gun on the bottom of my chin, slightly pressing the trigger.

Tears in my eyes "I finally looked..." I whispered smiling to myself.

The loud shot echoed throughout my body, the finally light of the sky bleed away with darkness.
