Hana's father, Sunbae was to meet the loan sharks at the underground club in mid central of the city.
The city quiet, cold and bitter, the chilling night rain drenched him with his part empty suit case, filled with small notes... Not enough...
Sunbae sighed, stopping and turning to the street light beside him, the rain dripping off his face was mixed in with tears. He never thought life could get to this point, he thought his problems would be at the bottom of a cheap whiskey but now things are serious.
He carried on walking feeling like he was dragging a colossal weight behind him, taking all the strength away from him. After a few minutes, he came to the mold bricked building its appearance was one to be feared, looked abandoned, but quite the opposite.
Sunbae noticed the side stairs leading down to the basement, a red light was blinking on and off. It was a stair way to hell and to the sharks.
He Knocked with sweaty palms and a heavy body, on the door and soon a black figure opened the door lightly, only seeing him slightly through the crack of the door.
"Sunbae?" he asked deep and low it didn't help him with his nerves.
"y-yes... I was told to come here..." Sunbae handed him a paper with the address on it. He snatched it off him and looked at him, after a few seconds of looking at the paper, His eyes looked back up at Sunbae.
"you alone?"
"yes" Sunbae answered, he clung onto his suitcase with sweaty hands making his grip weak.
"fine. Alright. Come on." the door opened wider and Sunbae cautiously walked in, soon as he did the door slammed shut. He jumped at it and the guys stood in front of the door hands folded and not moving.
Sunbae shook his head and slowly walked down the hall way which smelt like alcohol and cologne. Soon he came into a room which was dark and dull, it had a bar with a green gambling table in the center under a lightbulb, which looked like the only light in here.
"Sunbae, I'm glad you could make it, I hope the rain didn't weigh you down. Sit" the leader said gesturing to the seat that was the only empty and the end of the table.
Sunbae sat down and the sweat was becoming noticeable on his hands and Face. Two men stood either side of Sunbae Now there was no way out. The leader smelt of smoke off of the cigar, it was mixed in with some of the bitter scotch.
"you look stressed, relax, have a drink" the leader poured him a drink and Sunbae couldn't refuse it, as a gun was pressed into his back. His shaking hands picked it up and took a sip and put it back on the table trying to control his shaking.
"now. Let's get down to business... Do you finally have the money?" the leader grinned harshly, he knew that Sunbae wouldn't no matter what, the debt seemed endless and something that won't go away for a long while.
"I-I..." Sunbae paused clearing his throat before continuing "I have some here"
He lifted the case up and entered a lock, it clicked open and some money was presented before the leader. The leader gave a puff before putting it out, he sighed and shock his head.
"Sunbae... Oh Sunbae Sunbae... Your short this month..." Sunbae gulped down a lump in his throat.
"I know... But money is hard to come by..."
