FaceTime

Four months

      Its been four long months away from Luke and each day gets harder and harder. Sometimes there's good days when you're more optimistic, your head filled with thoughts like 'another day down, closer to having him in my arms again' but some days it feels like time couldn't move fast enough.
        Today was one of the medium days, not completely depressing, but not good either. You sat in your favorite white chair with a book and some tunes accompanying you. On days like this you tried to stay mild, using a book, music, or both, to escape reality. Today you needed a double dose. But you weren't shy of listening to your boyfriend's and his bestfriend's new album, stuck playing 'Broken Home' over and over.
       You sat engulfed in your book when you heard a cut in the music following your notification tone. You sighed while placing your decorative bookmark to mark your place. You set the book next to you on the side table. You picked up your phone and paused the music.

It was a message;
Fav bass player🌶
Hey, do you have a minute?

You were confused. Calum doesn't really text. If he wants to talk to you he calls or FaceTimes. He isn't into texting with you because "it's hard to figure out a girls emotion through messaging"

You typed a hesitant;
Sure. What's up?

You sat wondering what this could be about. Five minutes passed. Ten minutes passed. Thirty minutes passed. You truly wondered 'what was so important?'

You typed up another message;
Calum. Where did you go? You're scaring me.

You saw the little typing bubble pop up and disappear multiple times.

(Y/N), you know you're my absolute best friend that's a girl right ?

You and Calum had a lot of history. From him being there for you through breakups to bringing you up on stage, at one of their concerts, to play bass just because he spent his off time to teach you. He took you to your first movie, concert, and your first music festival. He's always been there.

You:
Yes Cal, of course, what's wrong ?

Well so Luke has been seeing this girl behind your back and he told everyone not to say anything but I just can't go on knowing that you don't know that he's doing this and I'm so sorry I told him it was wrong and he stopped for a while but she isn't a good person and she's got him in the palm of her hand (Y/N)

You couldn't believe what he's saying. You thought 'that can't be true.' 'But Calum wouldn't lie to me' you eyes became watery and your thoughts were a blur. You locked your phone and put it on the table. You pulled you knees into your chest and just cried. You fell asleep to the thought 'how could he do this to me? After everything..'
