The next day; Shima and Rin decided to study for their exam. The beach seemed like the best option, considering shima's room was piled high with stuff and Yukio had one day off that he decided to sleep through. The snoring was too much for them to bare so Rin's room was out of the question. There were a few distractions but the sun was out and the water was glistening. "I kinda missed the most of the lesson. Spaced out a little. You get it. What were we supposed to be working on again?" Asked Rin. "We're supposed to study the pharmaceuticals that cure each low level demon's bite. At least, I think that's what we're supposed to be working on anyway." They both sat on the warm sand with no productivity whatsoever and textbooks in their hands. "----Hey Rin, you okay? You've been really late to class and you've been more out of it than usual." "Uh-huh. I'm just tired and my brains too crammed lately is all." "How 'bout we get ice cream! I'm so hot and I haven't eaten anything!!" Shima groaned. "But we have to pass the exam or we'll have to redo the whole thing." Reasoned Rin. Shima stood up and looked at Rin, smiling. "Since when were you the kind of person to care? Hey, maybe we'll run into one of the students from cl--" He tripped over someone from behind. The new kid.  He bumped right into him. "um, sorry..." Muttered Roy. Suddenly Shima's eyes widened. He saw Izumo and her friend behind Roy. He got up and darted towards them, passing Roy. "Hey Izumo. Pretty day, am I right?" Asked Shima, his cheeks blood red. Izumo turned her face away. "Yeah I guess. I decided to take a walk with the new kid. Give him a chance to prove his intelligence to me. Turns out, Roy and I have a lot in common." Stated Izumo with her head held high. Shima felt like a sword was put right through his chest. His head hung low, disappointed. As Rin stood there, he felt the same feeling that he had felt yesterday. It was almost an electric vibe between him and Roy. He was wondering why Roy was wearing a robe on a hot day like this. He pushed Shima aside and stopped him from continuing to flirt. Although the way things were going, it didn't seem like Shima would have the confidence to say anything else anyway. "Hi-yah Roy, my names Rin. I gotta weird feeling about you but wanna be friends?! By the way, I'm a demon. Just saying..." Said Rin super friendly. Roy looked at him with almost a gasp look under his robe. "What did you say?" Questioned Roy. He grabbed Rin's wrist very tightly and pulled him away from everyone else. "Rin!" "You have a very high voice. And what's the deal with you pulling me so hard?" Asked Rin. "Sorry, I'm -" whispered Roy but he was interrupted by Izumo. "Quit talking with Roy and get Shima away from me!! I don't like ice cream and he won't listen!" Yelled Izumo. "Shima, something's really awkward about Roy, the new kid." Said Rin. "I think so too! Izumo and him seem to be getting along too well." Said Shima. Rin walked off, rolling his eyes. "Let's finish studying, okay?"
