Nico Di Angelo POV

I remember when I was eleven and my Hogwarts letter came. The simple memory of the owl flying through the window and giving my mum a heart attack was more than enough to make me smile.
I know. I know. Death boy, smiling? I do smile now even if I could be a moody little shit back when I was 13.
Anyway back to the memory. That memory was the best day of my life. I'd waited in anticipation(yes that's right, I can use 'big' words when I want to) to get my letter. Bianca had gotten hers and out mother told us about the wizarding world. I remember every single detail in full. The silent tear that slipped out my mom's eye.
Oh. I was so relieved when I'd gotten my letter. I had not shown any signs of magic while growing up so the letter told me that I was at least not a squib and for that one moment everything was perfect.
Then that moment ended.
There was a sharp rap on the door. Just like that, in the space of a few seconds the atmosphere chilled and fear gnawed at me. Without waiting for any of us to open the door, a man strode in. He had long oily black hair slicked back. His face was regal and had a strong jaw, the colour of his skin was pale, extremely pale. The tone almost shine with whiteness. His eyes were a black abyss which threatened to drown you.
Yet his the expression that adorned his face was one of unadulterated pain, terror and concern. Looking at the expression brought me to the realisation that he wasn't here to harm us as I'd originally thought.
"Maria... We must leave now. Zeus is getting restless and I must save you.... And Bianca. Nico. My children." At this I stepped back in shock. This man, was my father. How? Who? What?
What was happening? What had been a normal day was turning out to be nothing of the sorts.
Deciding to try again. He continued.
"I can take you some place safe. I ca-", at this he broke down completely. Tears gushing like waterfalls out of his eyes. One glance was all it took for me to fully believe in his allegiance.(See what I did there. Hmm. Hm. See. Get it allegiant😏😏,sorry)
Suddenly he stopped and raised his head, terror evident in his face. He looked at me and Bianca on one side of the room and my mother on the other. Spinning around so fast he was a tornado, he flung a wave of darkness at us. Just before the sky erupted in flames.

As the flames calmed, my vision increased. Bianca and I were floating in the air. The only thing keeping us suspended was a bubble of shadows. We were lowered to the ground and as I stared at the gaping hole that was left of the building, my heart stopped. The pain welled up in my chest but I didn't allow myself to feel it. The strange man gasped and staggered back as if wounded. His eyes darting back and forth as if he was an animal. He stumbled towards the place where my mother has once stood and where there was now emptiness. The same emptiness that seemed to have consumed my heart.
"I'm sorry, Maria..."
Whipping around to face us, he snapped his fingers and the world fell to the shadows.

I woke up to bright lights and pounding music. The atmosphere itself was intimidating but not in the way you might have thought...
