Chapter 7: Confessions

You can feel the light start to tremble

Washing what you know out to sea

Great just what I needed today. To see my best friend, the guy I'm in love with kissing his girlfriend. I immediately turned around and ran back inside.

"Veronica, wait!" I heard Danielle scream as she ran following me.

I couldn't do this anymore I just had to leave. I decided to call my brother so he can pick me up. Even though I drove here I just didn't feel like driving home today.

Me: Parker, could you please pick me up?

Harry: Yes but are you okay?

Me: Yea I'm fine just please come I don't feel like driving back.

As I was hanging up I heard someone come into the bathroom.

"Vero?" I heard Dani say as she entered the bathroom.

"I'm fine.." I replied from the stall I went into.

"No you're not"

"Yes I am, just please, I don't want to talk about it, I'll be out in a few." I told her from the stall I was in.

"Okay, I'll be with Liam.." She said with a hint of worry in her voice.

As Danielle walked out I decided on going outside to wait for my brother. I was really hoping that I wouldn't run into Zach. Luckily Parker was already out there and so was Nate.

"Hope you don't mind but I brought Nate so he could take your car home and he won't have to stay home" he told me as he opened the passenger door side for me.

At this point I really didn't care about anything so I just said it was fine. I handed my keys over to Nate and got in the car with Parker.

"So what happened? Why do you look so pale?" He said question after question.

"Parker, don't worry I'm fine. Just a little tired." I said back as I laid my head back on the seat.

"Are you sure? I'm really worried for you?" He asked turning to glance at me.

"Yes.." I said as I turned on the radio so he wouldn't be able to ask me anymore questions.

"You can't drain me out Vero, is it because of that Zach guy.." He said as he turned the radio back down.

Yes, Parker obviously knew about Zach since Freshmen year. He was my brother so I had talked about him before.

"I saw him out there.. With someone.. Is that the reason you're like this?" He asked me.

I didn't know what to say.

"Your silence says it all. You have to move on lil sis. He's no good for you." He told me as he patted my shoulder.

"I know. Can we just please stop talking about this?" I asked him while I turned to look out the window.

"Okay, fine. I'm just looking out for you." He told me.

When we got home, I was surprised that Nate didn't really talk to me. He just told me bye and that he'll see me around which was good because I don't want to sound mean but I really didn't feel like talking to anyone right now.

I went up to my room and changed into my pajamas and thought about what happened when I heard something out my window. So I went to go and check and there was Zach.. I decided to walk outside.

"Veronica? Are you okay.. Liam told me what happened." He asked me worried.

"I don't know..?" I said.

"Tell me! You know you can tell me anything." He told me looking into my eyes.

"Zach, how can you not tell? Do I really have to spell it out for you? I like you okay. I have since Freshman year.." I finally told him with tears streaming down my face.

"Veronica..." He said looking at the ground.

"I know, I know. You have a girlfriend and I totally understand its just I need time to my self." I said wiping away my tears.

I didn't even wait for him to answer that time.. I just walked back into the house and up the stairs into my room.

I went over to the sink and put water on my face. I put my hand on the counter and looked at my self in the mirror. I was a mess. Tears coming down my face and my ruined makeup thinking about how I just probably ruined an amazing friendship.

The next morning I didn't even want to go to school. But I had to because I couldn't miss my AP classes. Yes I guess you could say I was smart.

I showered quickly and got into an oversized sweater And I decided to wear leggings. My hair was slightly wavy and I decided to put my eyelashes up with some eyeliner.

When I was done I finally went downstairs to say goodbye to my mom and Parker. My mom is rarely ever home because she stays with her boyfriend most of the time but Parker and I have gotten used to it but it is always nice waking up and finding her in the morning in the kitchen.

"I'm leaving" I told them as I walked in the kitchen.

"Aren't you going to eat anything?" My mom asked me.

I really didn't feel like eating anything right now

"Nah, I'm not really that hungry."I told her.

"Come on eat something. I know you won't eat breakfast at school and by the way mom made some good pancakes" Parker told me as he shoved some in his mouth.

"Okay, fine I will eat one." I say giving in to the smell of moms freshly made pancakes.

After I was done I washed mine and Parker's plate and headed out to school.

"I'm leaving now Mom." I say.

"Bye sweetie, see you later." My mom said as she gave me such a warm hug.

"Hey Veronica you okay?" Dani asked me.

"Yea I'm fine." I told her.

"I know it's kind of chilly but not that cold to be wearing that sweater but you look cute though" she told me as she hugged me.

"Yea I'm just feeling a little sick." I told her.

"Oh okay, do you wanna go to the doctor after school?" She asked me.

"Nah, I'll be fine, but I have to go to class now before I'm late. See you later?" I told her to try to avoid any more questions.

"Oh okay.. And yea totally bye Veronica." She told me.

School that day was slow. I tried my best to avoid Zach as much as possible but my 4th period came around and that's where I wouldn't be able to avoid him because we had Chemistry and he was my lab partner. Great.
