Chapter 2: What Do I Do?

It was a week before the Billboard Music Awards where Nicki was scheduled to perform her new hit single "High School" with Lil Wayne! Of course she had been rehearsing everyday to make the performance one of the best of the night! Not to mention she was making an appearance in Justin Beiber's performance for their single "Beauty and a Beat". Like the other countless times before Onika was rehearsing too. She was to be their if anything would ever happen to Nicki the day of the show. Unless Nicki ever asked Onika to perform that night, it was mandatory for both of them to be at every rehearsal.

They were beginning there final rehearsal 2 hours before the start of the awards show. Nicki's phone started to flood with calls and voice-mails. This was normal, most if the times it would be people congratulating her on award nominations or giving good-lucks for her performances. But today they were from partners of her upcoming fashion line! It was said that she needed to immediately come to an emergency meeting to discuss about the fashion line due to an unexpected error. Like I said before "If ANYTHING would ever happen to Nicki..." Onika would have to fill in. Onika knew what this meant and it gave her a feeling of importance because all of her practicing could actually be seen my thousand of people. She wouldn't just be watching Nicki from the wings of the stage as the "stunt double" she knew she was.

"I love you sis, do good tonight and make the barbz proud" Nicki gave Onika a hug and kiss then stormed out of the room.

"Well lets get this show on the road" said Onika and then she got dressed.

The awards show opened and Nicki won the category for Best Rap Artist! Onika went on stage thanked all of her supporters and The Barbz and later that night accepted 2 more awards as Nicki. After about an hour into the show it was time for her to perform with Justin. She was so exhausted from all her practice and running around changing she didn't even bother to do a a final run through. She hopped on stage did her rap, left to change back into her gown, and went to her seat for the rest of the awards show. And hour later it was time for her to perform again and she went backstage to find Wayne and her dancers. She changed into her third outfit of the night and prepped for the final performance of the night!

She did a wonderful job and gave the fans what they wanted. Once she left the stage she went into a dressing room and fell onto a couch. She was so worn out from all of this. All of the performing, meetings, rehearsals, and most of all tired of being "NICKI". So frustrated with all of this she began to cry. She didn't know what to do. She lived her sister and would always be there to support her, but she hated supporting her this way. She sat on the couch with her face on the palm of her hands and sighed "WHAT DO I DO?" This was one of the most important questions Onika ever encountered in her life. She stopped crying, sucked it up, and went out to the paparazzi with a huge smile on her face! That's what she had to do, and that's what she did!
