She took one in her hands and held it tightly.

"Let me finish, Anne" she continued.

"But Miss Sophie it is not...." She stood up quickly and let the vase with the white rose fall down.

"Look at what you have done? It's your fault. Get Out!" She was desperate and tears were coming down her cheeks.

Anne didn't understand anything so she helped the woman stand up and tried to pick up the rose full of thorns.

"Please stand up, you could get hurt." the nanny said.

"My child. My child."

"Did you get hurt? Please answer me."

Suddenly she calmed down, Sophie stopped crying and slowly stood up.

Her hands were bleeding and the blood was dripping on the white rose.

"Do you feel well?" Anne asked many times.

"Certainly! " she had a big smile and shining eyes.

"Take these pieces of glass and throw them away and don't touch the rose."

"Mum will pick it up ." She said with a low voice.

"As you want."

Neville was returning home and was very impatient and enthusiastic. He didn't believe that, after so many years, his wife was expecting a child.

"God has blessed us, Antoine. I am very proud to have a wife such as Sophie. And now I am about to receive the most beautiful gift of my life, a son."

The gig stopped and a strong cry was heard from the outside. The two friends got down and saw someone laying on the ground.

"I know, I know why he hasn't reached home yet. All this time away from me and from my child... But I am sure that dad will soon enter, for me and for you; how much longer must we wait, wait, wait?"

She raised her voice while she removed her hands from her belly, she was always there.

"But mum is with you and will take care of you. Always, always, always my love. You and I will always be together."

"Sophie! Sophie"

"What happened?" The young lady answered the nanny.

"Your...your...husband...She wasn't able to pronounce the words, she couldn't breathe.

"What happened?" she had a threatening and worried tone, she was terrified.

"Follow me, quickly," Anne said.

Sophie followed her without saying a word.

"Oh my husband!" Sophie shouted and ran quickly towards her husband noticing that he was in good health.

She started to cry; she was so excited to see him again that they embraced and kissed each other becoming just one soul.

"My love, I missed you so much during this time, far away from you." Neville said.

"I am not alone. You also missed our child, not only me."

"Yes, certainly dear."
