Another man got out of the gig. It was Antoine."Hello, pleased to meet you. I am Antoine" and kissed the woman's hand.
"I hope that your husband has spoken well about me."
"A lot of times, young man. And tell me, why are you here? I imagine you will leave soon...right?"
"No dear, Antoine will stay here for a few days, if it is not a problem for you."
Sophie never contradicted her husband.
"Oh no, it isn't. Welcome Antoine. Neville's friends are also my friends."
They all went into the villa and Reid's bride was so impatient to show him the baby's room.
"Don't you think it is perfect?" She leaned on his shoulder and caressed his face.
"Fantastic my dear, it is very spacious, but I don't understand why it has been painted grey, it is such a dreary color...."
"Well dear, we don't know if it is a boy or a girl. So it was necessary to use a neutral color."
Sophie looked at the rose on her bedside table, but it was faded so she told her nanny:
"Anne, ask Luigi, the gardener, to find the most beautiful white rose in the garden."
"I will do so immediately."
"Sirs, I imagine you are very tired and you need a warm shower. In the meantime, I will relax reading a good book. Do you mind?" Sophie said.
"Don't worry Miss Sophie" answered Antoine.
Sophie was irritated because Neville had brought his friend, Antoine.
The sweet girl no longer existed.
Sophie went into the garden and saw Thomas the gardener cutting a white rose. She immediately stopped him.
"What are you doing? Who has given you the permission to touch this rose?"
-"But madam" the boy said "Anne has just said that she wanted the most beautiful white rose in the garden and I...." Sophie immediately interrupted him.
"You nothing. You... you go away! Disappear from my sight, ungrateful."
Thomas ran away petrified and the young woman cut the rose. While she was walking towards her room she heard voices coming from there. She slowly got closer to the door and heard:
"Oh my sir, you must stay near your beloved wife, now more than ever. The sweet Sophie is ambiguous. She doesn't eat nor sleep, she only thinks about baby Luis.."
-"Luis?" Neville said. -"Oh no, perhaps I should have not pronounced it..."
While Anne said these words the doors of the room flung open. Sophie said to her nanny:
"How could you do this? You, nanny, must not get involved in our affairs; your behavior is unacceptable. From now on you will no longer be part of our life. Disappear!" Sophie ran away and locked the door of her room.
"Nobody can understand me, right Luis? Only you... you my love. You will be my only joy, won't you? Because you will soon be here, isn't this so?"
These were the only word that Sophie pronounced.
