The Wolfprism Chronicles: Excerpts

The words gave the impression of fusing as the ink bled across the worn sheet. My mistress needed these letters to be sent out and I had been excused from training to carry out the task. I rushed to complete the task. My mistress has the tendency to change minds quickly as well. Possible before I even had time to finish the letters.

Hence was the cause of the feather soft steps leading up to the grand desk in the library. “Need some help with that love?”

No matter how hard I tried, there was something inside of me that couldn’t stop the blood coursing hard through my veins. Nor the shivers I received down my spine whenever he was near. There was a sign always present when he was coming, unless him being the stronger part of the soul control wise, he wished me not.

Consequently, any stint of time available.  

Our mistress, Calla, had been rather occupied with her travels. Although Sebastian and I are her strongest pair, she saw fit to take Sebastian with her instead. It could be she was traveling into the dark realms and needed his influence but I wouldn’t care. It wasn’t my job to question her decisions. Only to follow her orders.

I preferred it that way.

Calla had gifted me with something so significant, that no other could have presented. My true home, along this path of alpha hybrids. Here was were I learned my real origin. Here was when I first learned my potential. Here is where I will live content and immortal.

Past, Present, and Future.

A future though soon to be frozen within time, just like the rest of my fellow advocates.

Another shiver make itself known as Sebastian slowly said my name, desire lacing his words, “Rune.”

My eyes immediately snapped up to his, slightly irritated. “Why, no thank you, Son of Lust.”

Sebastian smirked gently before preceding to stand behind me anyway, looking over my shoulder at my script along the multiple letters. At first, I had taken the notion he was assessing my work for errors.

Sebastian had another plans in mind as soft velvet lips grazed my neck followed shortly after a small nip on my ear. Strong but lean hands rested on my bare shoulders, running down my arms. I had now known the reason for this particular dress Daisy decided would be best.  It was not held by straps and was a dark hue of purple, to blend with her favorite flowers, nightshades. It was thin though, and I could feel Sebastian’s hands perfectly through the fabric.

I allowed myself a murmur of desire as his hands let one finger trance down both sides of my body, causing me to shiver in full pleasure. Sebastian led a trail of kisses from my neck to shoulder, stilling me in place.

It was clear there was no room for resistance at the moment. Simply just to welcome the consequences and choices. Sebastian murmured as he trailed another path up my neck with his intoxicating scent, “I apologize in advance my dear Rune,” as he jolted my seat towards him, hooking his hands underneath my legs. With grace, he swiftly lifted me, the pen dropping willingly out of my hand. There had to be a reason Calla allowed this certain time slot with my fiancé, I might as well use it. “I’m afraid you won’t get the letters finished for quite a while.”

I had some idea what he meant.

The rules were cut and clear. No intercourse till after marriage. Tradition as always. Technically, we weren’t supposed to kiss each other on the lips either. Of course, ancient tradition always leaves the room when desire enters and the Keepers, depending on their need and want, are happy to let their clan push the boundaries.

Calla had taken a particular liking to us and our reserved time. For each second I spent with Sebastian, our soul got stronger.

Indeed, our soul. As in, we share the same soul.

Gently and slowly, I was laid across the couch underneath him, murmuring random encouragements in Latin. His kisses were perfectly positioned as I felt my hand go up to his chest, covered loosely by his dress shirt. How bad I wanted to mark him, make him only mine. I couldn’t though, not yet.

Keepers know how much I held back. He groaned hungrily and my senses rose to their peak. 

Certain hybrids have senses that clash and become overwhelming. We were part of those few. It was part of our training to challenge such obstacles but as for the moment, I let Sebastian overtake me when his affection. I could hear his blood running through his veins and my teeth seemed to ache, longing for his perfect neck. My hands felt his heart beating, slowly, like a wolf waiting to catch his prey.

For once, I wasn’t the predator. 

As I wanted, my lips met his cool neck, grazing the beautiful pale skin with my teeth. I never nipped him though, fearing what Calla would think. I never wanted to disappoint her that I bent the rules too much to her own liking. “Sebastian,” I was breathless. All I wanted was him. Ever since that ceremony, it was fated he would be mine. 

I would have the perfect immortal life.

A small laugh escaped his lips, the breath surprisingly hot against my shoulder. “So the creature of light fell for a son of Hell?”

He really just got to me sometimes. I giggled, unable to hold it in. The sound seemed to vibrate throughout the whole study. “You can’t have light without darkness.”
