"She can be saved," the doctor said.

"There's only one way," another agreed.

"Well, what is it?" Jaxon demanded impatiently.

"She must be turned. And if so, it needs to be done now," the first doctor said.

"Into a vampire?" He shook his head. "That can't happen. She's my mate. I already marked her."

"Then she will die," the other reasoned.

"Let me speak to my alpha before making a decision. Prolong her life. I'd like for her to live." The doctors looked at one another and nodded.

"Fine, but be quick." Jaxon pulled out his phone and called the alpha of his pack.

"Jaxon, where are you? Curfew was an hour ago!" Alpha Henry demanded.

"My mate," is all Jaxon said. Alpha Henry stopped, knowing mates came before pack rules.

"What about her? Did she not accept you?"

"She accepted me. But-" he stopped and thought about what to say. "She got hurt. Badly."

"Then help her. If she's accepted you, you can give her some of your energy and strength."

"I know. I tried that. The doctors say the only way to save her is to turn her."

"Into a vampire?" Alpha Henry yelled. "That can't happen. My pack members cannot have a vampire as a mate."

"This is my decision, not yours. I may as well chose to let her live." Jaxon hung up. He walked to Quinn's room and knocked on the door.

"Yes?" Jaxon opened the door and nodded to the doctors, showing that she could be turned.

Jaxon sat in the waiting room. "Jaxon Knight?" A nurse asked him. He nodded. "You are needed." He followed her to a room.

"You are the same blood type as Miss. Hartley are you not?"

"I am."

"Then come sit. The only way to complete the process is to give her lycanthrope blood of the same type. And we happen to be out of her type." Jaxon sat down in the designated seat. The nurse that lead him there came to him with a needle. She pricked him on the specific spot in the crook of his elbow. He winced, his wolf growled.

It's to save our mate. Jaxon told his wolf.

It hurts. But we must save her, vampire or not. We still love her. His wolf agreed.

"Done," the nurse placed a band-aid over the blood still trickling out I've his body. He licked his thumb and removed the band-aid. He rubbed his thumb on the blood then watched it heal. The nurse rolled her eyes. "Arrogant werewolves," she mumbled to herself.

"May I see Quinn?" The nurse nodded.

"Follow me, lycanthrope." Jaxon's werewolf growled at the nickname. She turned and glared at him. "Calm your wolf."

"You can hear him?" Jaxon asked curiously. She nodded and pulled up her sleeve. On her wrist was a rose tattoo, symbolizing her fairy blood. "Oh." She turned back around and continued down the hall, she stopped at a door and knocked. She opened the door and Jaxon followed her in. He closed the door behind him. The room was dark, but his werewolf eyes adjusted quicker than human eyes would.

"Jaxon?" Quinn's voice was very faint. He rushed to her side.

"It's me," he held her hand. He guided her hand to touch his cheek.

"Why do I feel different?"

"You're not human anymore," he watched her face scrunch in confusion. "You're a vampire."

"Why?" She asked nasally.

"If you hadn't been turned, you would've died. I couldn't let that happen."

"All I remember is-" Quinn's forehead creased with thought. "Getting hit."

"I heard that. Do remember what you told me?" Jaxon asked.

"Mhm. I do," Quinn nodded.

"I love you, too."

Here we are don't turn away now
We are the warriors who built this town-

Jaxon grabbed his phone. Quinn watched his face turn dark. "What?" He asks angrily.

"Alpha is mad. He keeps saying your name. What did you do?" Beta Shawn asked.

"Shawn. He was disrespecting my decision for my mate."

"What did he say, Jax? What did you say?" Shawn inquired.

"I told him that my mate was going to die and the only way to save her was to turn her." Jaxon heard Shawn's wolf growl. "I can't change my mind anymore. She's been turned. And I marked her."

"After?!"

"No. I marked her last week."

"And you will be staying with her?" Beta Shawn inquired further.

"Of course," Jaxon answered. "She's my mate. And my wolf is whipped. He's not turning back, neither is she."

"Jaxon," Quinn groaned as she tried to get up.

"Don't call again, Shawn. I know Alpha Henry is going to banish me," Jaxon told Shawn and hung up. He walked to his mate. He helped her up and he held her. He kissed Quinn's forehead before releasing her.

"What was that about?"

"My alpha is going to banish me from the pack. I was just speaking with his beta," Jaxon told her. Quinn nodded and put her face in the crook of his neck.

"I'm not going to age, am I?" She asked, her voice muffled by his neck.

"No, you will age. But when you die, your soul will return to this age. You will continue this cycle until you are murdered."

"Oh. So I can live with my family?"

"Yes. You will be given a new family when you return to this age."

"So I can have a family with you?" Jaxon shook his head.

"You can no longer carry children. But you can still be with me. And adopt," Jaxon offered.

"Okay. I have this life. There's no turning back now."

"There was no turning back when it happened."

"You made the decision?"

"Yes. And you needed my blood."

"Why?"

"To finalize the process, you need lycanthrope blood of the same type. That blood was mine. So every month for a few years, you will need a pint of my blood. It can't be any other wolf's." She nodded. He moved her head from his neck so he could kiss her neck.

"Can I go into the sun?"

"Not yet. But after a few months you will be able to travel in the sun," Jaxon whispered in Quinn's ear.
