Accidents happen. All the time. They didn't seem to happen in Quinn's life.
"QUINN! Quinn Elizabeth Hartley! Get your ass down here now!" Quinn heard a female voice call for her. She shut her laptop and slowly made her way down to the first floor. Her pregnant sister was on the couch. "Finally. Can you make me a pickle, olive, and peanut butter sandwich?" Nancy, her sister, grinned widely.
"Ew, don't you want something... More appetizing?" She offered.
"No. I want my pickle, olive, and peanut butter sandwich," Nancy whined.
"I got it, babe," Carlos, Nancy's baby daddy, came into the living room with a jug of milk and a sandwich on a plate.
"Aw. Thanks. You can go away now, Quinn." She rolled her eyes and climbed the stairs to her attic room.
I'm only one call away, I'll be there to save the day. Superman got nothing on me, I'm only one call away. Jaxon's ringtone came from her phone. She lunged for the phone and answered it.
"This is Quinn," she spoke into the rectangular box.
"Hey, baby."
"Oh, hey loser," she joked. She could practically hear his eye roll.
"Whatcha doin' today?" He asked, his southern accent showing.
"Nothing, just waiting for Nancy's baby to be born. I can't wait to be an aunt!"
"You'll be the best. And I'll be the best uncle."
"Who says you'll be an uncle?" She giggled.
"Says the one datin' the soon-to-be aunt," Quinn could hear him grinning. "Wanna go see a movie tonight? It'll get your mind of Nancy's weird food cravings," Jaxon offered.
"Sure. But I'll meet you there, I have some errands to run."
"Okay, CineMax at 8:45. There's a showing of Unguarded," Quinn grimaced. She hated horror movies.
"Mmh. Okay. See you then."
"Bye, baby doll."
"Bye, Jax," Quinn said just before Jaxon hung up. "Love you," she whispered, knowing no one could hear. Quinn stepped over to her vanity and applied a little bit of makeup to hide the red around her eyes. She slipped on a pink knit sweater and black leggings. She pulled her tan Uggs over her leggings, and she rushed to get her purse, phone, and wallet.
She sped out the door, grabbing her truck keys on her way out. Quinn started the truck and quickly tied her dirty blonde hair in a bun at the top of her head. She pulled out of the driveway and drove to the Winston Mall.
Quinn carefully made her way to Macy's. While she was there, Quinn was hit on and catcalled.
"Hey there darlin'," she heard from behind her.
"Go away you-" she was stopped when someone's lips crashed into hers. Quinn realized it was Jaxon and kissed back. She pulled away. "Don't scare me like that."
"Sorry baby doll. I just wanted to tell you that the movie is starting soon," he held her. How long was I here? Quinn asked herself.
