Millions of years ago, in a time known as the Cretaceous era, dinosaurs ruled the earth. But, there weren't only dinosaurs; humans were also living alongside the dinosaurs. Scientists from the future were caring for the dinosaurs, studying them, and even keeping them as pets. Inside a laboratory, a female dinosaur with a big frill with large spikes and a single horn on her nose called Styracosaurus nuzzled her two eggs. An elderly scientist carefully picked up the eggs. He looked at the Styracosaurus and patted her snout. "Well done, Astéri." he said.
Astéri nodded. He walked to the door, taking the egg with him. On the second floor, in the incubation room, he put the egg inside an incubator. "Astéri is doing well. The embryos are very healthy. No signs of illness." he said. "I wonder if they're going to be a boy and a girl when they hatch. Maybe both." A pretty blond woman and a red-haired man walked up to him. "Astéri ought to be a proud mother." the blond woman said.
"She sure is." the scientist said. "The eggs will hatch in a few days." The young scientist said. The blond woman then frowned. "Dr. Harkins, I got this feeling that we wouldn't be able to stay here any longer." She said. "What do you mean, Maria?" Dr. Harkins asked.
Maria Lopez was his assistant and his grandson, Rick Harkins' fiancée. Dr. John Harkins was the head of a foundation known as the "Dino Protection Foundation." The "Dino Protection Foundation", also known as DPF, is a place where scientists from the future are studying dinosaurs.
"The Dino Hunters are on the prowl. The dinosaurs are not safe here. We should move to a safer, more secure place for the dinosaurs to live." Rick said. Dr. Harkins turned his gaze towards them.
"Maria, Rick, don't worry. This place is secure enough for all the dinosaurs to live in. This laboratory has the highest, state-of-the-art security. The Dino Hunters won't be able to pass through." Dr. Harkins said.
Outside, everything seemed peaceful. But there are men hiding in the shadows. "Boss, when are we gonna attack?" one man said. He looked at his leader. He had a grizzled beard and an ugly scar on his left eye. Around his waist were 2 large guns. "On my signal, we attack." the leader said, smiling wickedly.
Inside the laboratory, Maria and Rick expressed their concerns. "But you know the Dino Hunters will stop at nothing to get those dinosaurs. Those ruthless hunters...." muttered Rick. "Who knows when they might strike." added Maria.
"Don't worry about it, my fellow friends." Dr. Harkins assured them. Maria smiled. "I hope so." she said. Dr. Harkins hugged her. Suddenly, the alarm rang. The doors flung open.
A young scientist ran in, his face full of alarm. "Dr. Harkins, we have trouble!" he cried. "The Dino Hunters have broken all security systems! They're on their way here!" he said.
"What?!" Dr. Harkins exclaimed. "Matt, tell the guards to barricade the doors! Protect the dinosaurs! Don't let the Dino Hunters get them!" Dr. Harkins ordered.
He and Maria ran out of the incubation room. "That's impossible!" he thought. "The security systems are high tech! No one can get through them!" he thought. They quickly ran to the compounds, where the dinosaurs are being kept. The dinosaurs were already panicking. The scientists are trying their best to calm them. Dr. Harkins quickly ran into his bedroom to get his shock baton.
He ran towards the gates. He heard a loud roar outside. Suddenly, the gates smashed open! A big dinosaur foot stepped though the doorway. It belonged to a big, mean-looking dinosaur with a long scar on its face. A big Tyrannosaurus! Its razor-sharp teeth glinted in the moonlight. "Oh, snap!" Dr. Harkins thought.
