A loud screeching noise filled Dean's room. "Son of a bitch" he said in his sleepy, gravely voice. He slammed a hand on by the alarm clock sending it across the room. Resting a single pillow on his head, he groaned. "Get up boys!" Bobby yelled from downstairs making Dean jump. "Dean you got practice today. Get your ass up!" He yelled louder.
Dean sat up after about ten minutes of contemplating life. He got his metalica shirt, blue jeans, and work boots assembled onto his body. He looked half decent, even though his hair was a mess. Bobby yelled once more from the bottom of the stairs. "You boys up?" Sam replies for the both of them, meeting his brother in the hall. "Merely" he mumbled to Dean. "Were up Bobby." The boys walked down the stairs. Meeting their uncle, they grabbed a piece of the already made toast and made their way outside. Hopping into the signature impala, Dean glanced at Castiel's house. With a smirk, he started the car and drove ten miles to the closest school.
"How long is practice?" Sam asked rubbing his eyes still half awake.
"I gotta ask the band when I get there." He said to Sam pulling into a gas station.
"Coffee?" Is all he had to say and Sam was already on his feet. They walked in and got themselves coffee to stay moderately coherent throughout the day.
Deans band practice lasted about an hour, when he met his teacher in first period.
"Late again Mr. Winchester? " the teacher threw a hand on her hip.
"Kinda my thing Ms. Harvelle" he smirked and sat in his seat, far back in to the classroom.
The teacher smirked but continued to teach.
Hours later, Castiel noticed he was in one of Dean's classes. He sat next to Dean. "Hello Dean" he said with a warm smile.
"....hey?" Dean said in a rude attitude. This confused the blue eyed boy.
He didn't speak much to Dean that day. He caught on that being nice, only happened when the 'cool' people weren't around.
In fourth hour they were forced to work together on a fundraising project for gym. They needed new equipment and student fundraising seemed to be the only choice.
"Well I can walk over today and we can get started. " Dean mumbled in hopes of no one hearing.
"I wouldn't want to force you to hang out with someone like me Dean. " Cas said writing out his own plans.
Dean sighed. "Look. I got a Rep okay?" He said learning towards Cas' desk. Castiel looked up to meet his eyes with the older Winchester's. Castiel said nothing for a bit. "Fine" he mumbled continuing to write. "5" he said reffering to the time.
Dean nodded and practically laid in his desk. To look 'cool' he laid his head back and relaxed.Hours later the blue eyes boy was met with the green eyes one. "Hello Dean " Castiel said opening the door for the winchester. Dean walked through the porch into the kitched. He knew his way around the house almost instantly. "All Hoyt lakes houses are the same. Same set up, same size, and most are the same color." Dean said plopping into a nearby chair. "Perfect town for not so perfect people. Ready to get started?" He looked at Castiel who was watching Dean carefully.
"I was thinking we could host a bake sale at a local church. Church goers seem to donate money locally a lot. " Castiel said glancing from dean to a glass of nearby Dr.Pepper. he grabbed the can and took a sip, getting one for dean as well.
Dean cracked it open "churches and I don't mix, but hell. If it gets our money then so be it. How much do we have to raise?" Dean took a few chugs wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
"200" Cas said setting his can down and sitting at the chair across the table from Dean.
"Alright. Well, how do we get the goods to sell?" Dean raised an eyebrow glancing at castiel.
"We bake. " Cas chuckled at the slightly stupid question, making Dean blush in the slightest.
"Well. I suck at baking so you're going to have to help. And I can talk to the pastor and set it up. "
They continued to set out plans for the bake sale this saturday. After they finished, the smaller boy had to ask Dean what his behavior was for today.
"Why do you act cool in front of people who aren't your real friends?" He said looking at dean in confusion.
Dean sighed "look cas. People look up to me. They think all high and mighty of me. So I gotta act the way they want."deans answer sounded so ignorant. Castiel almost winced at the stupidity in his statement. But refused to argue.
Wanna go get some food?" Dean asked his tummy grumbled from lack of nutrition. Castiel nodded. "On one condition. " he said to Dean turning his nose up the slightest b it. "You can't fall in love with me" he snickered at dean.
Dean on the other hand was confused. "Deal?" He chuckled but shrugged it off.
But in the end, Castiel knew if he wanted to have anyone close, it couldn't be too close. Not anymore. Not ever.
