Jamie had started to warm up, but she was still pretty cold. No power meant no heat, so Jamie was screwed. Everyone had split up by now, the boys disappeared into their rooms, and the girls went up to the room Jamie had woke up in that morning.
They talk about stupid stuff, but Jamie really didn't care. She loved the girls, she did, but she wanted some peace and quiet. She told the girls she'd be back but that probably wouldn't be soon. She took the blanket that was still wrapped around her from the snow dive. She didn't really know where to go, she didn't see much of the house. But the window in the living room had a great view of the brutal storm. So she sat on couch right under it and stared out at the snow falling.
"Had enough of them yet?" His British accent rang through Jamie's ears like a soft violin. He sat next to her and looked out the window with her.
"Yeah. I just wanted some peace and quiet." She was glad he was here. She may have wanted to be alone but she changed her mind when Harry sat next to her.
"Oh, well I leave you to it then." He said standing up, leaving a dip in the sofa where he was sat.
"No, it's okay, you can stay." Jamie's said, almost too quick. But Harry didn't seem to notice or care, because he sat back down.
They sat in silence for a while, but it wasn't weird or awkward. It was like they were old friends.
"What happened to your attitude this morning?" Jamie said. She was trying to break the silence. She didn't like it, she wanted to talk to him, get to know him.
"What do you mean?" Harry's confusing tone slightly annoyed Jamie, he knew what she meant.
"Your attitude, you were being jerk to me and Heather and now you're being so nice." Jamie was kind of pushing it, Harry didn't have much patience.
"Nothing." He answered bluntly.
"Oh." Is all that she could get out. "So why'd you move here?" She really didn't want to bug him so much but it was worth a shot to get him to open up.
"My dad got promoted and somehow I ended up in Pennsylvania." He said. He kept his gaze on the window, almost like Jamie wasn't there.
"Well that's good, right?" Jamie was cautious about what she said. She didn't want to make him mad or annoyed with her.
"I guess, that's all he ever does though, work." It was like he was resisting to look at her.
"I'm sorry, Harry." Harry didn't really say anything. He wasn't someone who enjoyed people's sympathy.
"What about you?" He spoke up.
"What?"
"How'd you end up in the spare bedroom?" Harry's smirk was evident on his face.
"If I could tell you, I would." She said. That earned a chuckle from Harry and instantly made Jamie smile. Harry turned his head and locked eyes Jamie. He studied her before getting up and leaving.
Jamie was mesmerized by Harry. His eyes, his voice, his lips...everything. But she knew getting him was a long shot. She wanted so bad to tell him to stay, but she didn't want to seem desperate. Harry is so closed off who knows how he feels about her.
One by one the lights flickered back on, followed by the tv. Jamie stood up and turned it up, listening to the news. Foots steps carries down the stairs and into the living room.
"Looks like this storm is not giving up. Roads are still closed and it looks like they could be until tomorrow." Groans echoed through the fraternity.
"Well looks like we're stuck here." Heather said.
"Now what?" Jamie asked.
"I'm just gonna put on a movie." Parker said. Jamie was starting to feel sick, wether it was jumping on the snow, or not getting a lot of sleep last night, she just wanted to go take a nap.
"I'm gonna go take a nap guys. I don't feel good." Jamie said waving to everyone.
Jamie made her way up the stairs, visions of last night running through her head. She remembered coming up here with a boy. But who, wasn't coming to her. She remembers him showing her to the spare bedroom though.
Oh my god. It was Harry.
