Chapter 1

Chapter 1; Start . . .

"You think we will be all right on our own?" Asked a youthful girl of Japanese descent.

"Not sure." Replied the blond-haired boy sitting next to her.

Static broke over the intercom, "We'll be reaching our destination shortly, please enjoy your final moments on the train before we arrive." Announced the conductor to his passengers.

"Well then, shall we arrange our things?" She questioned.

"Why not?" He agreed.

Lifting himself from his seat, he pulls down their suitcases from the upper storage compartment. "Here you go." Handing her smaller suitcase.

"Thank you." She nods and returns her gaze back to the sprawling green pastures that reside on the rolling hilltops of the valley. "Isn't it beautiful, Vincent!?" She exclaimed with enthusiasm.

Upon making his way towards the window, all he can do is smile. "You're right, we would never see something like this back home."

"I'm already giddy Vince," The girl admits as excitement takes over.

All he can do is snicker at her behavior, "Relax Chiharu, we haven't even started the school year and here you are acting as if the year end exams are tomorrow. You really should try out a sport or something, to let off some steam you know?" He remarks as he drapes his arm over her shoulders.

"I may be a tightened spring from excitement but at least I'm no slacker like you are, Vince." She puffs her cheeks.

"True, but who else would it be if not for me to make sure you aren't getting picked on?"

"Uh-" She began but was interrupted by the conductor over the intercom.

"Here we are folks, we have reached our destination. Please be sure you have all your luggage and disembark at the nearest exit. Once again, Thank You for using Saints Railways." Informed the conductor.

"Well, shall we head out now Chi?" Vincent stated, holding out a hand.

"Yeah," She grasps his hand to lift herself. "It's our first day, we should make it count."

Off the train, the pair were instantly bombarded by the sheer amount of students disembarking the train. Some short, others tall, and all of whom are of different ethnicities and backgrounds.

"Welcome!" Boomed one of the attendants by the gates. "Would you like some help?" She asked kindly.

"Yes ma'am." Chiharu replied. "Where can we locate the Meeting Hall?"

"Freshman?"

"Yes ma'am." Chiharu admitted.

"You see that building?" The attendant pointed towards the largest building on campus. "That is where you will find the Meeting Hall, just follow the crowd and you won't get lost."

"Thanks, ma'am." Vincent nodded. "Lets go Chi, we should go and see what they have for us."

"Right." She agreed. "Thank you for the help."" She bowed.

"Your Welcome. Have a great stay!" The attendant cheered as she returned her focus on helping other students.

Following the crowd, the pair wound up in the Hall without any interruptions.

"Come this way!" Boomed another attendant. Signaling down the hall.

"In here!" Added another, while pointing out the room.
