1 - Five Years Later

I've been going to this stupid academy for leeches and idiots for about a year now and today, Headmaster Cross asked me once again to join the disciplinary committee today and I finally agreed. I'm tired of him asking and hearing the screaming of fan-girls every day.

After I placed the arm band on my arm (obviously lol) and jumped out the window. 

"(Y/n)! There you are!" Yuki said from behind me, I got up and walked with her. Zero wasn't here. 

"Zero is supposed to be here." Yuki said as she pushed the girls back while I glared at them. I heard some girl shout :

"The new one's weak like Yuki. All she does is glare."

I faced the girls and said: 

"Get to your dorms, right now." ...But that didn't work. So I grabbed my (f/c) gun and pointed it into the air, I shot my gun and screamed at the day class students.

 "EVERYONE GET TO YOUR DORMS RIGHT NOW!" The girls shrieked and ran as fast as they could and the night class came out.

"Hey, where are all my fans?!" Hanabusa Aido questions and came over to me.

"I bet this was because of you~ Isn't it, (L/n)~?" He said, I pointed my Dying Flower (that's your gun's name :) ) gun at him. 

"Please put your gun away." Kaname said calmly.

My throat suddenly burned, I was thirsty. I quickly excused myself and hurried to Headmaster Cross. I am slowly turning into a level E, losing my sanity....Turning into a beast in human form that drinks the blood of living humans...Yuki called my name several times but I kept running. I can't let anyone know about this. 

When I got to headmaster's office I opened the door and fell to my knees, he gave me a pained, sorrowful look and passed me a box of blood tablets. I thanked him quietly and ran to my room. After I had some with a glass of water I walked back to the office to discuss my situation,but I bumped into Zero.

His eyes were bright red. Vampire. Wait, what? Zero hates vampires! What? I don't understand...No, no - he can't be...Zero...I kept running, scared that he could be the monster we both despised.

I ran as fast as my feet could move. I stopped to catch my breath and sat down by a tree, hoping I wouldn't have to face Zero like that. I wasn't afraid of vampires but seeing Zero like that terrified me. I grew up in the same house as him and Yuki and I never thought he was one of them.

Not long afterwards, Zero ran up to me.
"(Y/n)...I'm sorry I didn't tell you," he said. His eyes turned blood red, and I backed into the tree behind me, leaning away. He wrapped his arms around my waist and bit into my neck. I gulped in fear but still trusted him as he was obviously still sane for the time being and I knew exactly what he was going through. His eyes turned back to soft lavender and he took a step back, wiping my blood onto his sleeve. 

"Zero...Are you a level E?" I asked, gently cupping his face with my hand. Zero's eyes were glued to the floor as he confirmed it: 

"Yes. Yes I am."

I smiled comfortingly.

"You are too?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied. 

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your family? Nobody ever told me even though we were close..." I asked.

He explained that he was bitten by a pure blood and his family was killed. I just that there listening to his story, then suddenly asked: 

"What was the pureblood's name?"

"Shizuka Hio."

I gasped and placed my hand on my neck where she bit me. My heart stopped. His eyes widened "She bit you?" He asked. I silently nodded looking at the floor.

A comfortable silence surrounded us as I sat against the tree with my eyes closed. But a loud voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "Hi!" Yuki yelled. The two of us stared at her clearly annoyed. But a second later Zero and I had gone. I went to the infirmary and the headmaster said, 

"Here you go!" He gave me a plaster? Band-Aid? I don't know what you call them. I put it on my neck and jumped out the window to patrol, and not long after I saw two day class students, Yuki, Atsuki Kain and Hanabusa Aido. I sighed, this can't be anything but trouble.

The smell of Yuki's blood filled my nose until I couldn't take anymore. I jumped down from the tree, scaring the people and vampires. I pointed my (f/c) Dying Flower gun at Aido and shouted:

"Get away from her!!" Aido laughed.

"What's a weak human gonna do about it? If you shoot us then you're the one who'll be in a lot of trouble." He said.

I pulled the trigger but sadly Yuki moved my arm so that I missed my target, Aido. Suddenly, my eyes flashed red, I then realised that Aido bit my right hand. His eyes widened and he gasped;

"You're a-" but was stopped when Kaname walked over to us. Aido's face paled. 

"Hanabusa, drinking blood on school grounds is forbidden." Kaname said calmly. How could he be so calm? Hanabusa and Akatsuki got suspended while Yuki and I went to the infirmary.

"Are you two alright?" Headmaster asked.

"Fine." I replied coldly while Yuki replied cheerfully:

"Absolutely fine it's only a little scratch!" After a few minutes we decided to go back to our dorms. 

"Before Kaname came what was Aido going to say?" Yuki questioned and I quickly thought of an excuse.

"How am I supposed to know? I'm not a mind reader!" I snapped.

I stormed off back to my room.
