To start, I'm sorry that this story is soooo boring. Second, i apologise that this chapter is gonna be so short, it is just going to introduce the next chapter. The 'some peoples children' comment i say in this chapter was stolen from my friend Jessica from school. I give her full credit for it. Oh and sry for taking so long to uplaod, I was working on another story, and then there was school, then i got distracted reading other ppls stories, but i hve finally got back to it =) plz dont hate me!

_-_-_-_-_

"Come on Kimmy," I yell from the drivers seat, "Jess and I are leaving!"

"Okay, I'm here, calm your self there!" She yells back as she gets in the car. I just ignore her and start the drive to the dig site. I really hope that we don't get in trouble for being so late. I turn up the radio and zone everything out focusing on getting there as quickly as possible.

Twenty minutes later and we are pulling into the parking lot of the university. I look at the clock and see that it is ten past nine. We are so late it is practically laughable. I don't even stop to help Jessi and Kimmy get all the supplies out of the back. Instead I rush inside to see if we made it in time to go with everyone else. As i run into the office I tell my self that I will kill those two if they got us kicked off the project for taking so long. Sitting at the desk is a very depressed looking receptionist. I slow to a walk and head over to her.

"Excuse me ma'am?" I ask stopping right in front of her. She glances up then goes back to typing. We don't have time for this I almost yell at her. Biting my tongue to stop myself.

After what feel like years even though I know it couldn't have been more than a few minutes the receptionist finally looks up. "Yes?" She inquires.

"Has Dr. Scott, the archaeologist, and his group left for the dig yet?"

She takes agonizingly long before answering with s simple "No." "Thank you!" I tell her remembering my manners even though I am ready to blow! I grab one of the duffel bags that Jessi put on the ground and head in the direction that I hope our meeting spot is.

I make it about five feet before Kimmy tells me I'm going the wrong direction. I let a frustrated growl and turn to follow her. She was right, of course and we arrive at the rendezvous in just under a minute. We walked extremely fast.

When we get there they are just loading up the bus with every ones tools and other supplies. "Dr. Scott!" Kimmy screams from across the distance running to her great uncle and giving him a hug. Did i mention that the only reason that we get to come is her uncle is the archaeologist in charge? Well, he is and that's why.

"Hey Kimmy, Jessi, Mae. You three keep getting taller every time I see you." He notes.

"Not really but thank you for trying to make us short people feel better." I tell him with a smile. "Also, we're so sorry for being late, I had on of my famous collisions in the lobby. It was so embarrassing!"

He laughs, the sound coming from deep in his throat. "Yes, well, as long as you got here in time for the bus. I don't want you three to get lost out here."

I just nod. "I better put my bag with the others." I tell him before leaving to let Kimmy and him catch up. Walking over to the bus I notice we weren't the only ones hurrying to make it before the bus leaves. A man about twenty-five or so is walking quickly this way with a black duffel bag. I put my considerably smaller bag in the under part of the bus and hurry back over to where Jessi is standing. I did not want a repeat of this mornings incident.

A few minutes later, Kimmy joins us by the bus and the three of us scurry on and take our seats. Kimmy and Jessi sat next to eachother and I some how got stuck sitting by the young man I had seen earlier. So much for avoiding any possible "Mae mix-ups" which everyone has been calling them for as long as i can remember.
