That last Goodbye

Late mornings and new faces

Lucy Hall P.O.V

"Honey wake up! it's your last first day of schooool!" mum sings from the outside of my room.

"yeah okay I'll be up soon..." I grunt back. Finally my last first day of school and I'm excited! I'm ready to ace this year and not let anything distant me. I roll over and pick up my phone to see the time, "8:20!" I yell loudly in fright.

quickly I scramble out of bed and run down the stairs whilst quickly scoffing down my toast that mum had already made for me. "Mum why didn't you get me up earlier? school starts at 8:40! I only have 20 minutes, Ugh!!"

As I begin to run back up stairs and eating my toast at the same time I quickly run into my bedroom and quickly find something to wear, which just turns out to be a white top with some blue ripped jeans and a grey jacket.

I then sprint to the bathroom quickly to brush my teeth and chuck my hair into a messy bun, applying a little bit of foundation to my hideous ugly face some mascara and a little bit of pink lip gloss. I check the time and I have ten minutes until school starts.

I bolt back into my room to slip on my converses, grab my phone and my school bag. "MUM LET'S GO IM GOING TO BE LATE" I scream rushing down the stairs. "okay, okay let's go, get in the car." mum says whilst walking out the door with keys in one hand and a coffee in the other.

20minutes later.
"Oh.My.Gosh what is with the traffic this morning it's never this bad! I'm going to be so late for my last first day" I say in a huff. If there is one thing I hate that is being late to school.

thank goodness. not long after we make it to school.

"thanks mum, see you tonight."
"see you later sweetheart have a wonderful day." she says whilst driving away slowly out of the school gates.

great now I have to go to the other end of the school to get to the office so I can get a late slip then all the way to the opposite side of the school again to get to my locker and get all my books I need, I think to myself and roll my eyes.

definitely not a good start to the day.

finally making it to the office as I just bolted from the other side of the school I sign in quickly and ask Mrs. Day the office lady for a late slip, she hands one over to me with a massive grin on her face "have a nice day" she chirps.

Making my way back to the other side of the school I check the time and I'm about to miss my first class so I sprint back to my locker and grab my books as I was making my way down to my class I ran into someone making my books fly everywhere, ugh great now I really am going to be late for my first class.

"oh my gosh I'm so so sorry, here let me help you" a guy that I've never seen before says. "uhh..thank you..." I say trying to figure out who he might be as he passes my books back up to me. "Hi I'm Aiden Smith and you are?" he asks with a massive grin on his face showing off his big pearly teeth.

"I'm..uhh..Lucy...Lucy Hall" I say shyly "well it's great to meet you Lucy hall I'm new here and really late for class because I can't seem to find where I have to be.." he says nervously. "oh what class do you have?" I ask, "I'm supposed to have English right now with Mr. Douglass?" he answers back looking down at his timetable. "oh your in my class then we can go together I say.

We walk to English and finally I decide to break the awkward silence "so why did you move here Aiden?" I ask, "umm...well..I got bullied a lot at my old school so mum and dad moved me here" he said nervously, "well it's good to see a new face!" I say to him trying to lighten to moment. Finally we make it to English which seemed like it took 3 years.

As I was just about to open the door the bell rings.

really? you just missed your first class! well done Hall, well done.

"oh I'm so sorry I didn't get you here on time!" I look up to Aiden apologetically. "haha it's all good, but I've got gym now so I guess it's time I go find that, hopefully I'll see you around!" he says grinning. "yeah sure good luck. Bye" I say turning around and heading for Science class.

YES! I actually made it on time! thank gosh..
