I ~ Chapter 6

The water was running along his spine and torso when Zayn closed the shower and grabbed his towel. Zayn knew it was a Sunday because he had already checked his calendar as well as his mobile phone. And he knew he should go outside on Sundays because it was set as a reminder on his phone, but he couldn't remember when he did set it. Zayn had some workout sessions that he should do every Sunday, it was a necessity for his weekly therapy. When Zayn checked the calendar, it was marked with a note,

Check page thirty-two of notebook.

So, Zayn grabbed his notebook and turned to page thirty-two.

To-do-list on Sundays

1. Go to the gym.

Address: Fitness Centre, Second Floor, Orchard Building, Picadilly Circus, London.

2. Take train from Marylebone to the gym and get down at Picadilly Circus.

3. Buy and read a newspaper.

As a young man Zayn himself was eager to see newspapers. It wasn't to update his knowledge or to know the current affairs around the world. It was mainly to tick off the people on his photo list. If a person on his photo list was in the paper as dead or alive, Zayn would decide his next activity, or assignment. Zayn did consider all the murders he committed as an assignment or in a more important aspect, to tick his blank picture of Dean Samuels. It was a difficult task for Zayn to find a person who constantly haunts him, but doesn't know the face of.

But, Dean Samuels wasn't an unpopular man. There would be at least one article on The Sun each week which had some reference to Dean Samuels. But, still Zayn couldn't manage to find a picture.

Zayn dressed himself for his workout, grabbed a pair of sports shoes and a pair of socks. As he sat to wear his sock he suddenly noticed a tattoo on the top side of his foot saying,

Take camera and Notebook.

Zayn stopped wearing his socks and wore his leather jacket and placed his Polaroid Camera and Notebook safely in it. Then he continued with the shoes. He noted as 'Take train from Marylebone' on his palm and straightened himself up, finishing his laces.

"Goddamn traffic!" Liam swore. He wasn't a person who was comfortable with swearing. But, he couldn't contain himself if he was going to miss the chance of catching the criminal he is seriously searching because of traffic. Liam just couldn't. Liam was appalled with the amount of vehicles that were on the road on a Sunday. Sundays are supposed to be the only holiday people get, so, people should rest at their homes, not travelling.

"I just hope we'll reach on time." Liam said to Mr. Jackson who was sitting next to him.

"Yes. Don't worry sir, we will." Replied Mr. Jackson.

Liam could feel that Mr. Jackson was trying to make him feel better. It's already 10.20. There's no way they're gonna reach there in time. Liam could feel the tension of his body drench almost each and every part and organ within him. He was too much tensed.

Just as the green light appeared on the junction Liam took off his car with high speed, with the only aim of locking his cuffs on the criminal. Liam sped his car through the highway towards the Marylebone Railway Station. It took almost ten minutes for Liam to finally reach his destination, struggling through all the traffic.

Liam and Mr. Jackson got down and Liam locked his vehicle from his car keys. When he reached the gate he witnessed that it was a long distance to reach inside. So they, he and Mr. Jackson ran. They ran as fast as they could because it was already 10.35, and the train was supposed to reach Marylebone at 10.30. Liam was panting hard when he reached the counter.

"Did.. Did the.. the Train to Elephant & Castle arrive yet?" Liam asked while panting. Mr. Jackson was struggling out of breath too. If Liam being a cop found it difficult to breathe after running a few miles, it wasn't a surprise that a normal person as a driver could breathe.

"No sir. We're extremely sorry for the delay. You can always check the digital information board for any doubts. " Replied the lady seated in the counter.

Liam was too much tensed that he even forgot about the train schedule on the wall. He sat on one of the seats at the station along with Mr. Jackson. The tickets counter for the train has not been opened yet. So, Liam sat just across it in a way where he had a clear view of all the people lining to the ticket counter. There was already a queue of about fifteen people.

"Do you see him?" Liam asked from Mr. Jackson.

"Nope. He isn't in the queue." Mr. Jackson replied.

"Just keep a direct eye on the queue as well as other places. I don't wanna miss him Mr. Jackson." Liam said in a firm tone.

Mr. Jackson nodded and kept his gaze directed towards the tickets counter. After about two minutes, which was as long as two hours to Liam, the station announced that the train to Elephant & Castle has arrived. As soon as the announcement was announced, large flocks of men, women and teenagers were rounding up the counter.

Liam never expected this, he didn't expect such an occurrence. Due to the large crowd of people who gathered in an instance at the counter Liam and Mr. Jackson found it extremely difficult to identify anyone who passed the counter.

"What the fuck?" Liam swore again for the second time that day. He was more than angry with all the people. Why couldn't they buy the tickets beforehand?

There were many young men with quiffs walking in to the station. Liam was tensed of the fact that this could be the chance that he was going to miss his suspect.

"Mr. Jackson. Keep an eye on the crowd until I buy the tickets. Shout my name if you see him." Liam said to Mr. Jackson as he ran towards the counter.

Liam ran as fast as he could to the ticket counter and waited in the queue. As he was looking everywhere for a tanned guy with hair styled in a quiff suddenly he heard Mr. Jackson scream.

"Mr. Payne. There he is." Liam looked at the area Mr. Jackson was pointing to. A young lad with a quiff wearing a black leather jacket turned to the platform where the train was stopped. And Liam lost the view of his suspect. Liam pushed his way to the counter and showed his identity badge to the lady in the counter.

"Give me two tickets, now. It's urgent." The lady gave the tickets and Liam handed her some cash in return and didn't even wait to collect the balance.

As he ran with Mr. Jackson he heard another announcement. He didn't pause running.

"The train to Elephant & Castle will be leaving now. All passengers are requested to stay far away from the platform to avoid any accident."

And it pulled. In front of his eyes, the train started to move. Liam was crushed. He wanted more than anything to have a clear view of his suspect.

"Look. There he is, sir. Sitting on the third seat." The voice of Mr. Jackson came next to him. Liam wasn't bothered to turn his head, instead he stared at the train. And he saw him, a young man with tan skin, hair styled in a quiff, just as Mr. Jackson had explained. Liam's mind snapped and he grabbed his phone and took a picture of the unsub. It was unclear and hazy, but it didn't matter.

Liam was enraged. The young man didn't acknowledge the fact that a cop was following him, but Liam was angry. He will definitely catch the youth that Liam's eyes were focused on. He definitely will.
