Prompt: basically my hopeful version of Ski lodge

Ok so just some information: ski lodge happens in 10th grade, the Triangle has still been going on. Smackle and Farkle broke up before 9th grade ended, so Farkle is just a lonely soul.

"Riley I don't want to hurt you" Lucas started, of course Riley knew what was coming next. "I love May-"

"Lucas it's okay go get Maya I'll be alright" Riley cut him off "you need to feel whatever you feel"

"Really?!" Lucas asked. Riley nodded trying to hold back her tears.

"Yeah, go get 'em" she smiled her #1 fake smile and pushed his shoulders. She sniffled slightly. Not noticing her welling up eyes, Lucas smiled at her and turned around walking back towards her room where Maya was.

As soon as Lucas was out of her view she turned around and fled down the hallway. She ran to the only persons room she knew who would listen.

"Farkle?" Riley said as she knocked on his door. Tears stream down her face. She knew it was late, but she needed Farkle to hold her as she cried. Farkle opened the door slowly. It was almost midnight. And he was tired.

"Riley?" He mumbled but straightened up when he saw the tears. "Riley what's wrong?" He said and guided her into his room. She didn't answer. Farkle sat down on the bed. Riley jumped into his arms wishing to be held. She rested her head on the crook of his neck. Tears ran down her face leaving a wet patch on Farkle's dark shirt.

"Do you think anyone will ever love me?" Riley asked trying to choke back her tears. He'd done this so many times before that he already knew certain ways to calm her down. He cradled her in his lap and strokes her long brown hair out of her face.

"I love you" he said meaning each word. Riley just ignored him thinking he was just saying words to make her feel better.

"Please just hold me" she choked out. He held he like she was Belgium 1831. He rested his forehead on hers and stared down into her brown eyes.

"Riley will you please tell me what happened?" Farkle asked although he had a pretty good assumption.

"Please just hold me" she kept crying into his shoulder. They both stayed silent. Farkle still held her afraid that if he let her go she'd disappear.

She looked up at him, "I always had my heart set on a perfect prince. Now it's gone" Riley spoke up. She fiddled with collar of Farkle's shirt between her fingers feeling inadequate.

"Your still a princess Riley" he wiped her tears away. She sniffled  "you'll always be a princess to me, even better your a queen"

"Can I sleep in here tonight?" She asked yawning. She was exhausted.

"Always." Farkle smiled, to which Riley smiled sadly back at him. She laid her head on his shoulder. "But Riley you will have to confront the problem sooner or later"

"Eventually; for now just hold me" so he did he held her until the both fell asleep on his bed. Riley gripped his shirt in her sleep scared he would leave. Scared that one of of the only constant people in her life would leave.

First it was Lucas then Maya, to which she was happy about them. Then it was her little brother who is growing up much to her dissatisfaction. She knew that it was stupid and cliché but she couldn't loose Farkle. She couldn't loose the late night bay window talks. She couldn't loose the dragging each other out of rooms leaving behind people wondering what exactly they were doing. She couldn't loose him holding her when she needed it. She just could loose him.
