Wyatt
The morning sunlight filtered through my open bedroom window. Stretching my arms while getting up and going into the bathroom, I looked at my reflection in the mirror. Navy blue eyes, disheveled brown hair, high angular cheekbones, aquiline nose and a diamond-ish face.
After finishing my morning business, I made my way downstairs. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes wafted through the air, making my stomach growl.
'Oh good, you're up. Come help me decorate these cupcakes.'
'Mom, what's the purpose of doing that, I'm just gonna eat them like 5 seconds later anyway.' I whined, not wanting to do anything remotely related to cooking.
'These aren't for you, they're for the new neighbors.'
'New neighbors?'
'Yes, now come help me!'
Stepping near the kitchen counter I reached for the whipped cream and chocolate chips, sprinkling them over the cupcakes. 'What new neighbors? How come I never saw anything?'
'They didn't bring much. They are Mrs. Lowry's relatives, and she decided to leave most of the furniture and stuff here. They're the Pike family and they just moved in yesterday! And don't eat!' Smacking my hand with a wooden spoon. 'There, they're all done.'
'Great. I'll just grab some sandwiches and I'm off!' Taking my keys off the kitchen counter and slinging my bag over my shoulders.
'Not so fast young man, help me give these cupcakes to them. It's on the way anyway.'
Muttering under my breath about why she couldn't bring them herself, I took the box from her.
'Be nice! Don't drop them! Don't be home late!'
'Yes mom!' I said exasperatedly and left.
I stood in front of the old wooden door of number 3, Jordan street, and knocked. A plump cheery lady opened the door, 'hello dear, how can I help you?'
'I live just next to you, I'm Wyatt. And my mother sent me to give you these cupcakes.'
'Oh how lovely!' She took the box from my hands. 'Logan! Come down here and meet our neighbors!'
'I'm changing! Just wait for a moment can't you!' A voice from upstairs yelled.
Mrs. Pike gave me an apologetic look, 'Sorry about that, he's Just a bit nervous. You know, new school, new people.'
'That's alright Mrs. Pike, I have to get going anyways. I'm a bit late for school. Well, see ya!' Without waiting for a reply, I waved, turned and walked off.
Just as I was about to round a corner, the same voice from before called, 'hey wait up!'
Turning around, I saw, I presume, Logan running towards me. 'Sorry for not coming down just now, I thought it was my mom asking me to take out the trash or something. Which school do you go to?'
'James Ruse, you?'
'Same. Rather nervous about my first day. Are the people there nice? Are the lessons difficult.'
'Yes and no. The people there are pretty chill, and as long as you don't sleep in all your lessons, you should be fine.'
I walked with him the rest of the way, and found out that not only were we both in the same year, we had English and acting together. Walking towards my locker, I could see a bunch of people huddled near by. They saw me coming and one of them said in a sing-song voice, 'Wyatt has a boyfriend, his single status has finally end!'
