We pull into the parking lot of ArtVan and he gets out and opens the door for me to get out too.

"Thanks." I say getting out of the car. We walk for a bit until he opens the door for me again. The walls were lined with huge couches and fluffy mattresses. I was in sleep heaven.

"You gotta go pick out one, lay on it, and see how you like it for me to buy it for you." He says gesturing towards the mattresses.

"You know I don't feel comfortable using other people's money." I say.

"Why?" He asks.

"Then I feel like I owe you and I don't have anything to offer." I say shyly knowing that its true. What could I possibly do to repay a guy offering to buy me sleep? Nothing.

"Your time." He says seeming to answer my question.

"What do you mean?" I ask walking over towards the mattresses.

"If I could have one date with you on Saturday, that would be enough to repay me." He says.

"I'll see." I've never actually went out on a real date with a real guy. I mean I've been out eating pizza with my cousin who is in fact a boy but that is nowhere near a date.

We walk over to the tallest mattress there is and I decide to go ask the worker about the quality and what not.

"Hi can you please tell me how durable this mattress is?" I ask him. He is terribly sweaty and is baldheaded with a gray mustache.

"Well this one will last you about 4 to 6 years depending on how you treat it and what you do with it." He says with a heavy southern accent.

"Well that's going to be a problem." Dave smirks popping up right next to me

"Why would it be?" I ask him hoping he hasn't changed his mind about buying me a bed because the price is pretty up there.

He bends down slightly and whispers in my ear.

"I'm not exactly a gentle guy so I assume you want something to last a little longer." He says with his hot breath burning my ear. I nearly went numb and lost balance until I realized that Steve, the mattress man, was still standing there.

I pull away from Dave a little when I feel him standing too close.

"Well what's the next top mattress?" I ask.

He shows me to this really high up mattress and that's the one I choose because its nice and firm. Dave pays for it which makes me feel entitled to go on a date with him, and they say they're going to have it delivered to my father's house on Monday.

We walk back to the car and he opens the door for me. Soon were driving off on the road to my dads house.

"Thanks again for the bed." I say breaking our silence.

"No problem. Its only best that you get your beauty rest." He says putting his hand on my thigh.

I twitch slightly and give him a weak smile and we pull up to the house. How does he know where the hell I live though? Did I tell him? Oh lord he's a stalker. Wait, I'm not worth being stalked. Oh well.

He gets out and opens my door and helps me out of the car.

"Well I'll see you on Saturday around 6:00 sweets." He waves.

"Um OK sure bye." I wave awkwardly.

"Oh and by the way you never told me, what is your favorite color?" He asks.

"Blue." I respond and wave one last time before going into the house. There is a pretty red Prius parked out front and I'm sure it isn't my fathers.

"Hello?" I look around the kitchen and see my father sitting down having dinner with a woman. He's dating?

"Ah! Here she is!" He gestures towards me. The lady turns around and she has a really pretty face. I'm assuming that was her car I saw out in the driveway. She has pretty blond hair and is quite petite looking with her bright green dress and black pumps.

"Nice to meet you Kayla I'm Vicky, your father has told me so much about you." She stands to hug me.

"Nice to meet you too." I say hugging her back.

"Vicky and I were just on a little dinner date." He stands to hug me too.

"Oh cool." I say.

"Where have you been all night it's 8:30!" He says laughing.

"Oh I guess I just lost track of time" I say knowing I really did, hanging out with Dave all day has made me exhausted.

"I'm going to go to sleep I'm really tired." I tell them both and Vicky tells me its nice to meet me again. I wonder how long they have been dating? I never realized that ever since my parents divorced, they probably have been dating different people. Is my mom dating someone? Nah, she would tell us.

I wasn't as tired as I thought so I turned on TV and watched some Martin until I fell asleep. I had the weirdest dream ever. It was me and Dave and we were all over each other. He kept kissing my neck and pushing me up against a wall. The dream was rather aggressive because it made me wake up and go get some orange juice from the fridge. It was 3 am and Vicky must have left home because my dad was on the couch slumped.

I pushed the blanket over him because it felt 20° degrees in here and went back upstairs and fell asleep again hoping my dreams wouldn't come back of me and Dave.
