Unbreakable Bond

MAJOR Fire Emblem Birthright SPOILERS!

Ok so I made a post on tumblr that said " Imagine a dark room with a single candle. Now imagine a bed with Camilla and Leo sitting on it. Imagine Camilla trying to comfort Leo by holding him and singing a lullaby while he cries because she's all he has left in the world." So I thought why not make the story?

"You're dismissed, Niles."

"Yes, lord Leo." Niles replied making quick eye contact with the newly appointed king that was filled with sorrow before turning around and walking away.

Leo slowly closed the door and sighed. Not only was it a long day for him because of his coronation, but the process he had to go through to get here was a long and painful one. In the time span of one month his sister, who he knew almost his whole life, managed to betray him and his family, His father and brother were killed by said "sister", his youngest sister had passed and so did his fellow comrades. Then in all the chaos he and his sister had to decide who would take over Nohr. Knowing his sister was not meant to rule he decided to step up. All of this was because of his sister and the Hoshidans. He secretly resented them for taking away everyone he loved but he thought it was best to not let his emotions get to him, as it was something his late brother would never do, and he didn't want future tension between the neighboring country to arise. These were the thoughts that clouded his mind lately but dwelling on the past would do him nor his kingdom any good. Instead he thought it was best to catch up on his studies so he walked to his study area. Opened up a book and glanced at the pages.

Before letting a sniffle out. No matter how hard he tried to forget. The thoughts clouded his mind and he slowly placed his head on his textbooks. "All of this was for "peace" he quietly mocked the single phrase that was spoken by Kamui. "If this was for peace then why must I suffer?" No later than 10 seconds there was a gentle knock on the door. He stood up in shock as it was midnight and no one would dare try to come at this hour unless called upon. He quickly tried to fix himself up attempting to leave no evidence of what he was just doing.

"Who is it?" His voice sounded booming.

There was nothing but silence until the door opened and in came his sister.

"C-Camilla?" He was confused but didn't try to let it be heard in his voice. "What do you need, Sister?" She glared at him before closing the door and coming closer; pulling him into her embrace. Shock overtook Leo's face as he was never the center of her attention and never done this before. "W-what are you-" He was cut off by her shushing. She pulled back and looked him in the face before walking him to his bed and sitting down. "Leo... You don't have to act this way towards me. After all.. we only have each other now and I don't want us to have any barriers between us. Please. If there is anything you want to talk about then you can always come to me." a single tear rolled down Camilla's cheek but it seemed her words triggered Leo because tears began to roll down his face. He tried to weep silently so he couldn't be heard and she hugged him tighter. "We're all alone. You can let it out, Darling."

He was hesitant but finally let his guard down and had an outburst. "WHY DID KAMUI LEAVE US FOR THEM? WHY DID SHE KILL HER OWN FAMILY? HER OWN BROTHER! Did she truly believe that blood was thicker than our bonds? WE TREATED HER LIKE FAMILY. I know it's too late to change anything but I just cant figure this out, and what if i'm not as strong a King as Xander would have been? He already set expectations for our people. What if I cant live up to them?" Leo was truly vulnerable to completely let his guard down like that, but sadly Camilla didn't have any of the answers for him so she tried to do what she does best.She pulled his head near her chest and began rocking while humming.

"Hush little Leo don't you cry~

Camilla's going to sing you a lullaby~

In our memories they will stay~

And we'll all get to play another day~

If life gets too tough then don't give up~

Camilla will be there to lift you up~

If you ever need me then call me, whenever~

You and I will always be together forever~"

She looked down and noticed her song put him to sleep. She thought it felt nice to temporarily put him to ease. She softly kissed his forehead, tucked him under his covers, and turned off the light. Before closing the door she looked at him and said.

"Goodnight little king."

(Author note: Sorry if this is way too OOC for you. I just couldn't imagine Leo being vulnerable or crying but I tried my best to make it work. If you actually liked my story then feel free to ask for a request because I have nothing but time on my hands and I could only get better with practice!)
