[] Author's Note: Bear with me everyone, this is the first time I've written a story like this. Hope you enjoy! []
You were happy to finally get home from school, since there was something to look forward to. You had bought a strange console the day before at the Gamestop close by. It was white, dusty, and had a swirled logo with two dots on the top. You set your backpack down and plugged it into the TV. Then you pressed the power button, causing the machine to glow. Before you knew it, a wormhole opened up. Millions of thoughts rushed through your head but before you could even move, you were sucked into the vortex.
---
You woke up to see a light blue creature. It had dog-like features but looked like a blue pile of goop.
"He/She's awake!" It said, hopping away from you. Confused and curious, you stood up and followed it. Now that you were awake, you took in the surroundings. The dark sky seemed to have cracks in it, as well as bits of the street you were standing on. Tall, dark, and broken buildings lined the area. The whole place seemed like something out of a zombie movie. Shortly after following the odd creature through the ruins of the city, you saw a girl with red hair that was holding a megaphone. She seemed to smile brightly upon seeing you.
"Hey there, never thought I'd see another human here," She said, looking at the creature.
"Great find," She complimented, then looking back at you.
"As much as I'd love to get to know you and all, we first have to focus on getting out of this area. That damn giant is going to get here soon." She said.
"Giant?" You asked. This entire scenario seemed unreal, though at least you got to be with a cute girl.
"I'll explain once we can get to my base," She said, grabbing your hand and leading you away. The creature followed you both.

"-That's a nice name. My name's Uzume Tennouboshi, and I'm the CPU of this city," The girl introduced.
"I'm also um...well, the only other human here. Aside from you, of course. Anyways, let me explain the whole situation. My memory's missing a lot of events from my past, but I can tell you that there's a giant monstrosity that goes from city to city annihilating everything in sight."
"What's a CPU?" you asked, having assumed it wasn't a computer component.
"Oh, well it stands for Console Patron Unit. A CPU is like a goddess to her nation. They can also access HDD, or Hard Drive Divinity, which is an alternate form that boosts your abilities," Uzume explained.
"Though you can only access it through Shares, which are kind of like the power of believing as an energy."
You nodded, processing the information. A loud crash could be heard outside.
"Looks like it came sooner than expected, you better stay here. I don't want you to get yourself hurt, I'll be back soon!" Uzume said, rushing out. Despite her explanations, it almost felt like a dream. CPUs, monsters, there was so much to accept. Regardless of the craziness of this world, and against your better judgement, you went to follow Uzume.
