Instead of this being a normal day in my apartment, my stepmother had taken me out of school, had me pack my things, and now we were moving half a continent over. Worst morning ever.

Paige obviously didn't know I was the least upset. She sat next to me on the airplane, and was currently shuffling though house paperwork making sure everything was secure for us to move in. From New York to small town Colorado. I though. So typical.

Sooner rather than later, our pilot instructed us to put it seatbelts on and we descended back to stable ground. Our rightful place.

Have you ever seen a movie or read a book where there's a family moving and they seem like the most happiest people in the whole world? Well all of that, is a total and complete lie. They forgot to mention the tiredness you feel of packing, the empty feeling of seeing everything go in boxes.

Worst of all, where was I going to go to school? What would it feel like to be the new girl everyone talks about? Just the thought if it made me shutter. Montrose High School. Ugh, can I just disappear now?

I decided to ditch unpacking and go exploring. That's what normal people do when they move, right?

Once I step outside the cold breeze took the warmth out of my cheeks and left them cold and numb. My headphones in my ears with "Map" by Maroon 5 at full volume, I walked aimlessly.

In about an hour I have covered the suburbs of the town, and most if the neighborhood, now I'm walking across a park with its own nice looking basketball court heading towards downtown. I pass the group of guys and then out of the corner of my eye I see an orange ball heading straight for me. I duck in just the nick of time, and the ball goes flying across the street and knock someone's trashcan over.

I rolled my eyes and walked away, hoping not to be noticed. I keep walking but two people run right in front of my catching me off guard and I nearly fall over.

Two strong arms take a hold of me to balance my feet. Once I'm on my feet and the two guys are successfully retrieving their ball and making their way back, I shrug the person's hands off me and turn around to see the deepest blue eyes. "Hey, I haven't seen you around here, what's your name?" He asks seductively.

"Why would you care?" I shot back, not liking the tone of voice he was using.

"Well, my parents are part f the welcoming committee, I just wanted to give you the proper welcoming." He smirks.

"Yeah, well you about gave me a concussion with a basketball, so I do believe your welcoming sucked." I say. In the background I hear the two boys roaring of laughter.

"Looks like she's not falling for it Danny!" Yells out one of the boys from across the street.

I look back at Daniel, and see his jaw clenching. That obviously set well. I turn around and walk away, but Daniel pulls me by my arm gently back. "Just tell me your name." He whispers pleading.

I shove him away and he stumbles surprised, but quickly regains his balance. He turns to look at his friends. I bet he's wondering if they saw that. Suddenly, I feel pity for him. "Claire." I whisper.

His eyes shoot up to look at me. "Claire." He says back. I nod, turn, and continue on.
