So Close,yet So Far

Beach it is!

I ran back home and immediately shouted,"Mom! We have to Talk! "
"Yes honey?" She shouted back.
I ran, put my bag down and sst at the table. She got the cue and sat down too.
"Mom,I absolutely need to go with my frie-"
"Honey,I believe we have already been over this. You are not going to the mall. You are coming to the beach with me and daddy."
"But,mom,listen, it's been so long since I've had friends and I just want to go to the ma-"
"Kurt, I think this talk is over."
I froze with that. This beach thing must be important. My mom almost never calls me by my name. I told her it was and went to my room. I paced up and down wondering how to get my parents to let me go. Then I remembered my saviour. My dad. We never talk but I'm sure he'll hear me out like a man to man thing. Just then,I heard the door open. Sweet! He's home. Talk of the devil or in this case the angel and it appears. I ran downstairs screaming Dad the entire time. He was shocked and surprised but didn't have any time to ask anything as I pulled him to my room. I sat him down on the bed and said," Dad, I want to go with my friends to the mall this Staurday but we are going to the beach. Can you not do anything to convince mom to let me go? "
He replied," Son, that beach is actually the same place your mom went to as a kid and the same place we met when we were 21. It holds a lot of memories for her. She probably wants to share those memories with you. Won't you understand and be a Dear? Please come along." My heart broke. This beach meant so much to my mother but I, I had tried to cancel it. I wanted to go with Pandora but I didn't want to let mom down. My dad saw me looking down and asked me why I wanted to go so badly. I told him the entire story from when me and Pandora met at the market. "Wow, that was quite a story. I understand how you feel." He said that and left. 'What? He just.....left? I guess I have no other choice but to go to the beach.' I thought as I sighed. Suddenly my door burst open and my mom entered.
" Kurt! You asked your dad about it as well! I thought we had gone over It! Hadn't I told you you can't go! Your poor dad must be so Busy! Why did you disturb him more!" I told my mom I was sorry but that I had to get my feelings out and that dad would understand them the best. She sighed and told me,"Man to man huh? I never had any talks like this with my mum. Anyways, your dad told me. He told me that there are some things a man wants that a woman will never be able to understand. You can go to the mall now. Are you happy hon? "She asked me with a sad smile. I was so happy but she was so sad and I had caused it. I quickly thought and said," Mom you didn't listen to me fully,nor did dad. I wanted to ask whether my friends could come to the beach with us. It would be so much fun and we could have some family time too. You could meet all my friends also. What do you say Mom? "
She looked happier and said" Sure baby. Ask your friends and let me know so I can make the arrangements." "Thank you Mom! "I said as I hugged her super hard. I immediately texted Pandora. She checked with everyone and they were all okay with it.
Well atleast that got solved. Saturday beach here I Come!
