THE SOUND OF SLASH'S GUITAR SOLO ECHOED THROUGHOUT THE ATTIC. A hand appeared from underneath the fluffy covers. It searched across the bedside table for the radio-alarm, shutting it once found. Leaning on the hand, a blonde teen stood up from her bed-- more like matress on the floor-- stretching and yawning.
The song kept playing through the radio, Axl Rose's voice filling the air. Gwen placed her feet on the hard wood floor, stared outside her window for a few seconds and then got up in order to get ready for school. Opening the door to her small, personal bathroom, Gwen did her morning routine-- morning shower, brushed her teeth etc. -- before moving to her closet-- a couple of chairs with various pieces of clothing on them-- choosing her usual outfit, not forgetting her black hairband.
She, then, opened the trap door leading to the main part of the house, bag slung across her shoulder. Headphones around her neck, the blonde ruffled her brother's hair, grabbed a sandwich, kissed her parents' cheek and left the house, keys in hand.
She placed her headphones on her ears-- the sweet sound of Pink Floyd resonating in her brain-- sandwich finished before even reaching the thrid floor. Gwen moved her bag in front of her checking its contents; books, tapes, spray paints and her lucky drumsticks.
The fifteen year old walked down the all familiar streets, seeing the all familiar smal and big shops that always made her question what was it like before they opened. Gwen's blue eyes wandered around the city, waving at people she knew. She stopped walking once she reached her destination. Midtown High School.
The only thing on her mind was the comfort of her bed ad the company of her best friends. She passed the gates and made a beeline for her locker. Gwen passed by the school's popular girl, and lead singer of her band, Mary Jane Watson. The band of course was named after her; The Mary Janes.
She rolled her eyes as she watched the ginger flirt with Flash and made a gagging face once she rounded the corner. But, her face quickly broke into a small at the sight in front of her. Her best friend leaned against her locker, papaed bag filled with cinnamon cookies his aunt had made.
"Morning, Parker," she greeted. Peter and her had been friends since kindergarten when he squashed clay on her head.
The bespectacled boy grinned back, allowing her to open her locker, "Morning Stacy," he extended the hand with the paper bag, "Aunt May insisted I bring these for you today, since it's a special day," his grin widened when Gwen grabbed the bag eagerly. She quietly squealed and gave Peter one of her famous-- and rare-- bear hugs.
"You remembered," she breathed. Today was her fifteenth birthday and Peter was the first one to mention it, except her family. Peter rolled his eyes making Gwen chuckle and hug him again. The brunette chuckled and playfully glared, "Of course. You think that I'd forget the school trip to Oscorp? I thought you knew me better than that Stacy."
Gwen hit his arm and burried her head on his chest. Peter wrapped his arms around her again and whispered, "Happy birthday, Gweny." She smiled up at him, the moment ruined once the bell rang.
