I had no more tears to cry over this man. He wasn't worth it. I needed to let go and move on. I picked myself up from the floor, wiped my tears, and managed to pull myself together.
When I went upstairs to my room I had four missed calls from my sister Amy, two from josh, one from Brian and a text message from my mom. My mom hates calling people. She figured that sending a text is better. I didn't wanna call Amy back so I called Josh.
"Hello, is everything ok?" I asked josh
"Not really, dad was rushed to the hospital. He had a bad asthma attack."
"Oh god, is he okay"
"Well I'm not sure. The nurses haven't came to talk to us yet so we're still here waiting"
"Ok well I'll be on my way"
"Ok see you then", once we got off the phone with each other I got myself together and headed to the hospital.
I prayed the whole way there. Although my dad wasn't my biological father he still meant the world to me. I'd be so hurt if I lost him.
Once I made it to the hospital I spotted my family sitting in waiting room.
"Hey everyone", I said as I gave them a half smile. Everyone greeted. I made my way to sit next to my mom and decided to comfort her in this disruption. Although it wasn't nothing too serious but she hate go see any of her loved ones sick.
"Hey, how's it going mom", I asked her as I laid my head on her shoulder.
"Everything is fine baby. Your father is going to be ok. Gia your not my biological child but I treat you no different than my own. I love you baby"
I sat there with confusion written over my face as to what did that have to do with anything that was going on now.
My mom was random. So it was like you should always expect the unexpected with her. So I just agreed with what she was saying.
"I love you too mom. Have you talked to Amy?" I asked
"No, Sh-"
As soon as she was trying to finish off her sentence the nurse came in.
"McGuire Family"
We all sat up looking nervous to what she was going to say next.
"Well everything is ok with him. Nothing too serious. Just need to up his dosage on his asthma medication but other than that he'll be going home once we get all the paperwork situated."
The look on our faces was a reliever look. We all took turns going in dads room talking to him. When it was my turn Amy game rushing through the hospital door. My heart beating so rapidly. I didn't know what to think.
"Hey Gia" she called
"Y-Yea, Hi Amy"
"Hey, I stopped by your house and I saw your car but I was just curious on why you didn't answer the door" she said walking towards me.
I was thinking of things to say but she beat me to it.
"I figured you was sleeping, because you'll always answer your door, but I'm glad you made it. I was coming to tell you about the incident with dad since your phone kept going to voicemail." she smiled.
"Yup, you know me so well" I said lying.
"So how's the babies" I asked as we both walked to dad room.
We talked to him about any and everything joked around a little, just trying to cheer him up.
We heard a knock on the door and we expected it to be the nurse but it was my worse enemy. James
" Hello Sir. Amy told me you we're here so I thought I'd come pay my respect. I'm glad everything is well."
"Oh thanks son. I appreciate it"
I mentally rolled my eyes.
"Dad I have to get going. I'll meet you home." I said as I kissed my dads cheek.
"Ok sweetheart. See you later"
I felt James staring but I couldn't dare look his way.
I rubbed Amy stomach and left.
