When I get home, Chris wants to know how my day went. He's quite a nosy elder brother.
"I scared a guy today."
"How? With your eating obsession?"
"It's not an obsession." I collapse on the couch "food is life."
"Of course food is life." Will, my younger brother is a foodie like me and I love him for this.
"Y'all should let me play" I squeeze between them on the couch.
"Get out." Will and Chris are so focused on the tv screen. I try to grab Chris's console from him.
"Don't you dare."
"Phone call for you Wendy." Mom yells.
I hear Will and Chris sigh as I head upstairs to my room. I grab my phone from my bed and smirk when I see the caller.
"Let me guess. You're calling to apologize." I sit on my bed and smile.
"Why would I apologize?" Tara's voice comes on.
I roll my eyes. "I thought it was your brother."
"Why would he apologize? Y'all are having one of your quarrels again?"
"What do you want Tara?"
"I want to go fishing."
Okay? If that isn't weird, what is? Why on earth would she want to go fishing and also, who fishes?
"Are you high?" That was the closest question I could think of.
"No. I'm not. It's summer and I have nothing to do. I want to fish."
"That makes no sense." Tara is kind of a geek, unlike her hot Jock of a brother, but for her to want to fish in summer, that's socially awkward.
"Wendy? You there?"
"Uh huh. If you want to go fishing, go"
I can feel her smile "I know but of course I can't go alone and Tim says he's not going except you're coming."
"That's quite understandable" I blush.
"So, will you come?"
"Sure. But I'd ask my mom first."
