"Mom, I want to go fishing."
She gasps. "You are?"
"Yes." I load the dishes into the dishwasher and wipe my hand on my apron.
"Oh my God." She stands on a spot.
"You okay?" I had to ask. She was creeping me out.
"I never in my whole life thought you'd ever say that."
"Um, is that a good thing?"
She hugs me "You have my permission, a thousand times. Does that answer your question?"
I nod. "I guess."
"What's this about?" Chris strolls into the kitchen, dressed.
"Wendy is going fishing." Mom sings.
Chris gasps. What is with this family? Then he shrugs "You're not only a Foodie, now you're a socially awkward geek. Fishing, what are you thinking?"
Mom hits his shoulder. "Shut up and don't discourage your sister."
"Tim is going too." I try to defend. Chris laughs. "There's no way Tim is going fishing. Gosh, doesn't it sound weird to you?"
"Leave her alone." Mom defends "and where are you going?"
"Like a normal teenager, I'm going to the beach to have fun and find new chics."
"Christ help you. Get away from my kitchen." Mom points a ladle at him and he runs out.
"I'm hungry." Will steps into the kitchen and yawns.
"Food would be ready soon." Mom says and the doorbell rings. "Tim's here." Chris yells from the living room. I hurry to the living room, pulling my apron and releasing my hair. Tim's standing by the doorway, he looks so cute.
"So Tim, you're going fishing with my sister. How cool." I roll my eyes. Could Chris really just drop this topic?
"I'm not going fishing with anyone." Tim says as innocently as he looks
