Third POV

Afraid To Face The Music

"He said I could go." The blonde repeated a bit louder.

"Yay!" Levy cheered in excitement, her wait for Lucy's answer was finally over! "Thank God you got an answer in time!" Erza said, eating her cake.

Levy sat back down in her seat and continued eating her own lunch, "Yeah, I know right? I kinda thought my dad would forget that I asked and then I wouldn't be able to go. But luckily he didn't." Lucy said with a small smile.

"You don't look excited." Levy noticed, pointing her fork at the blonde. "I am!" She forced a wider smile, "Spill it, Lu." Levy narrowed her eyes suspisciously.

Lucy let out a breath and mumbled something. "Lu... Speak louder!" Levy said, flicking her fork at her. Her best friend flinched, "I don't like concerts." She said quietly. Levy blinked, "Eh?" She asked, looking at her with concern, "What do you mean? Why not?" She questioned.

"I dunno." Lucy shrugged, "I guess, I just don't like how the performers can look so confident..." She mumbled, "Why do they smile? What is the pleasure in showing the world that you are better than them?" She whispered.

"Lu-Chan," Levy said quietly, "do you have some reason for that kind of thought?" The bluentte asked. Lucy smiled, "I guess you didn't know, I thought you did. Stumped, the girls remained quiet, as Lucy picked up her tray that was no longer full of food. She got up, threw away her trash and walked away.

Levy frowned.

Her thoughts zoomed around her head. Usually she was never left speechless and never had anyone given her a question she couldn't solve. Lucy wasn't like this, Levy thought, At least, I've never seen her like this.

Did something happen? She questioned. She searched through her memories, specifically focused on first grade.

She remember that they would have their own performances back in first grade. Like Lucy mentioned, once apon a time the girls danced. That was how they met... in dance class. They had always danced together.

We've never left each other since. So what wasn't she telling me? Did she keep a secret from us? Levy pondered.

What happened to the Lucy that we knew when we first met?

The short bluenette walked into her eighth period, still thinking about the conversation that happened two hours ago. She took a seat and attempted to pay attention to the subject. Her ears felt numb towards the voice of the teacher and her mind buzzed with thoughts and doubts.

"Levy!" The teacher said, snapping her out of her investigation. "Yes?" She asked confused, the teacher pointed to the chalk board,
