"Dear Mavis, I hate paper work. But I guess it's worth it for you girls." The old man said with a smile.
Lucy returned the gesture slightly, the girls standing beside her following her example. They all had book bags thrown over their shoulders and stood in front of the principal's desk waiting for schedules politely. "We really appreciate it, Mr. Makarov." Mira nudged Erza, "Er, I mean master Makarov."
"No problem, my dear! Well then, I suppose I should give you your schedules now." He grabbed his computer mouse and clicked away at the screen, and soon enough the printer behind him spit out a few sheets of paper. The old man reached for them, neatly organizing them before handing them to Mira.
"I tried my best to put you girls together for the most part so you had some familiar faces around, but unfortunately some classes will be different. Either way, I hope you all enjoy your experience here at our school. Welcome to Fairy Tail!"
The girls thanked the old man and dismissed themselves. The minute the door closed behind them, they began to examine each other's schedules.
"So it looks like our third, fifth and eighth periods are different," Levy said, "and that Juvia and Erza share dorms while Lucy and I share one." Lucy nodded, looking at the paper in her hands.
"Need help finding your first period?" Mira asked, glancing over Juvia's shoulder. "Acting." Erza said, her eyes holding a curious shine. "What about main courses, like math and science?"
Mira waved the scarlet haired girl off, "Pfffttt. None of that. This is a performing school. When will you need any of that when you are on stage? Though, I do suppose it could be usefull when one is improvising a scene, but that's a seperate elective on it's own and I'm pretty sure you guys will stick to dancing and singing, correct?" She asked with a teasing smile. None of the girls complained, but they agreed to let Mira show them to their first class.
Classes began at eight and their meeting with Makarov was at seven thirty, therefore could attend each one of their classes without having to come in halfway through one, thank Mavis. Though their first teacher did tell them to introduce themselves which was still just as embarrassing.
"Seeing as you girls are new, I'll let the class show you how our regular lessons go. I won't expect participation from you girls until next week, that way you can observe, alright?" The teacher, Mr. Connell, asked, recieveing simultaneous nods.
A "regular lesson" apparently involved multiple mini script plays performed by randomly selected students that had a lot more to do with improvising than Mira let on, but they all assumed she must've not actually taken an acting class. Maybe it was a choice? They'd make sure to interrogate Mira later, but for now they focused on the pop-up presentations.
The period flew by quicker than Lucy had anticipated, but she wasn't upset about it. She was definitely not looking forward to acting. And she thought her previous History class was bad.
Second period wasn't as horrible as first, but only because it was costume designing and that meant no performing; instead it meant learning to work a sewing machine.
Then it was third period. This is where they had to split up. Erza would go to dance class, Juvia would head to music, Levy would head to script making and Lucy was stuck going to chorus. Great.
With her map of the school in hand, Lucy made her way down the corridors, anxious to find the class before the bell rung — too late — it just rang.
With a huff, she averted her eyes to her map and realized that the door she was looking for was right to her left. She sighed contentedly thinking that it could have gone much worse if she had continued to be stubborn by ignoring the map.
She grabbed the handle before she could regret anything and opened the door with shaky hands. Her eyes met the teacher's first and then she settled her eyes on the board, trying her best to avoid eye contact of any kind. The blonde walked in shyly, feeling the burning eyes of her new class mates, "Lucy Heartfilia?" The woman asked, her smile kind and unlike any other teacher's. Even master Makarov's smile wasn't as warm. Her's was almost... motherly.
Swallowing her nervousness Lucy nodded and waited for the instructions that were to be given to her. "You can choose your seat, Sweetheart. Oh, and feel free to call me Lyra. 'Miss' just sounds too formal." With another smiled the woman turned back to the board and Lucy was left to look at her new classmates.
She got even more nervous when she spotted the same guy she met at the showcase. The one who found her in the woods. She didn't meet his eyes and scurried to the closest open seat which happed to be right besides a boy who was obviously a player.
His brown eyes sparkled mischievously behind their glasses as he swept his hand through his red-orange locks. "Name's Loki," he began with a smirk, "but you can call me daddy any time you want, babe."
Lucy shivered, "Thanks, babe, but just because you have a dick, doesn't mean you should be one."
Satisfied with her retort and the look on the male's face, the blonde pulled out a pencil from her bag and waited for further instructions from the teacher. "Okay, class," Lyra began, "today we will be working on harmonizing so please pull out your lyric packets."
The class rustled with dozens of students scavaging for the mentioned packet as Lyra handed one to Lucy. "Thank you." the blonde said with a smile.
"On page sixteen there should be a list of songs you are allowed to choose from for this lesson. I have set you into groups of two so when I call out your name you may move to a closer seat by your partner. You are allowed to use the instruments that are in the back closet or you can choose to simply use the karaoke machine for your presentations tomorrow. You are also welcome to sit anywhere in the classroom and if you'd like to go outside, you may. Just as long as you take a hallpass, okay?"
Hums and nods swept the room. "Okay then. First group is Loke and Aries," the boy beside Lucy tensed. The blonde scooched out of her seat to allow his partner to sit beside him and felt bad for the poor girl. Anyone who was stuck with him was truly unfortunate.
"Lucy and Gajeel," at the sound of her name Lucy looked for her partner. Wasn't that one overly-pierced guy named Gajeel? Well, at least Lucy knew who he was.
"Oi!" Lucy jumped hearing the gruff voice behind her. "Let's go bunny girl, I wanna get this over with." Lucy sighed and grabbed a hallpass as her partner walked out of the classroom.
This is going to be interesting, she thought as she followed him outside.
