today, you were on a picnic with the man who made your day just a little bit brighter: Bucky. to say he was hesitant was the truth but he went with it because, and i quote, "id like nothing more than to see a smile on your face." i couldn't tell if it was one of his sarcastic remarks or not but decided to go with it all the same.

i walked up the hill with the basket in one hand and bucky's hand in the other, he acted as though walking up the hill was like walking up a mountain, but he was just being silly.

we laid down on the blanket that he brought and ate some sandwiches and drank sme water before i pulled out his favorite snack:plums, his face lit up like a sparkler and had a childlike glow, it was adorable to say the least.

later when we felt it was getting a little late we decided to pack up and move to a more lighted area, the fun isn't over yet! on our walk to our second spot bucky stopped me with a serious look on his face, had i missed something important?

"hey, y/n. i know i may know be the most kind or deserving man, but i just want you to know that...that you know...i love you...and stuff." he rubbed the back of his neck nervously and shuffled his feet, i giggled. here a grown man was at his wits end acting like he had just confessed his undying love to his high school crush, how romantic and adorable.

"hey! thats not funny! im confessing my raw feelings and your here giggling like-" he started getting flustered and confused and i started laughing more

"calm down you idiot," i said wrapping my hands around his neck "i love you too."

he stops his rambling and looks me dead in the eye and a light blush dusts his cheek.

"wait, you do? i- i thought that." he drops his sentence and he rests his hands on my waist.

i smile up at him, "isnt this the part where you kiss me and it starts raining?" i say jokingly, he grins and we both lean in for a kiss until the low rumbles of thunder were heard in the distance.

he tilts his head back in a hearty laugh, "talk about irony."

"did you bring an umbrella?"

he pulled me close again and whispered, "i dont need one." i pulled him close and kissed him for what had to be five seconds but whos keeping track when all you could feel was bliss.

bliss from a kiss in the rain, how ironic.
