Liz's POV-

I get up and leave the room. I walk through the kitchen and out the door. I walk into the woods. I cross a creek and fallen trees. I walk until I'm tired, then I stop. I thought a walk might clear my head. My stomach start to hurt excruciatingly. I throw my head back and I scream. An earpiercing, shrill scream.
My stomach starts to hurt even worse. I feel like I'm going to faint. Then everything goes dark.

Max's POV-

I hear her scream. It's a scream of pure agony. I run after her and follow the sound of her scream. I cross the creek and continue on. I see her, she wobbles a little then falls. I run to her and carry her back to the house, unconscious.
I carry her in the house and set her on a couch in the living room. Liz holds her stomach and scruches her face as she sleeps on the couch. I want to help her, but I don't know how.
I lift my hand over her cuts to heal them. I try to heal her stomach ache, but it doesn't work. So I try again and again. I start to see black spots.
"Stop Max. You're going to hurt yourself." Maria says.
"No, just one more time." I try again. Nothing happens. The room starts to whirl.
"Max, stop. Now." Isabel says.
"No! This is my fault and I will fix it." Tears sting my eyes. I try again. Then Brendan comes in the room.
"I need your help." He says.
"Cant you see we're busy." Maria stokes Liz's hair softly and sits on the couch. Maria gently sets Liz's head on her lap. "I knew she didn't do anything wrong." Maria whispers. "I knew she was..well You know."
"How did you know that?" Isabel asks.
"Liz gets flashes when she touches Max and they can see into eachother's heads. When Isabel made Liz cry and I hugged her. I got a flash." Maria holds back tears.
"Why didn't you speak up?" I ask, angrily.
"She called. I could hear the desperation in her voice. I tried to explain that you would understand, Max. She didn't think you would. I think she was scared she would loose you, especially after the Kyle thing drove you apart." Maria says.
"I wouldn't have- I won't hold it against her. It wasn't her fault." I stammer. I pull at my hair as the tears fall.
"Why didn't you tell me in her room?" Isabel asks.
"I was going to, after you both calmed down and I tried to shut you up in the kitchen, but no one would listen." Maria continues. "Isabel slapped her, Michael and Kyle ran away, Max stood by, and I did nothing." As Maria said this I realized that it was all true. I let this happen.
"You guys should learn to listen before you leap." Brendan snaps. "She could have been seriously hurt, or the baby could have been killed."
"Didn't you hear her? She's not pregnant." Kyle states in a duh tone.
"Then, It's okay to hurt her, if she's not pregnant?" Brendan asks.
"No, and I'm sorry I hurt her. I shouldn't have, but I don't want her to hurt Max." Isabel says. "He's my little brother."
"She's also been a friend to all of us and went out of her way to help every one of us." Maria says, still stroking Liz's hair.
"Someone must have really upset her." Brendan says.
"What do you mean? Of course she was upset." I state, angrily. Liz whimpers and clutches her stomach. She wakes up. She starts to cry.
"The baby. Babies don't get upset like this unless the mother is really upset. They reflect their mom." Brendan says. "Liz, can I feel your stomach?" She nods reluctantly with a pained expression.
"Hi, baby." The baby doesn't stop kicking and fusing. "You need to settle down, little baby." He looks at me. "Max, calm Liz's nerves." I walk over to her and set my hands on the sides of her head. I clear her mind and fill it with calm and beautiful memories. I pull away and Liz is calm. "The baby won't stop." Brendan says. "Maria, get me a rag that is wet with warm water."
Maria runs out of the room and Brendan takes his hands away. "Liz, I'm so sorry." Isabel says.
"I forgive all of you. You were protecting-" Liz lets out a sharp squeal. "Max!"
I hurry and sit beside her and grab her hand, she sets my hands on her stomach quickly. She sighs in relief and I see the baby. The baby is not health. It's dying. The baby is not going to make it.
I pull my hands away gently and smile at her. "Everything will be fine, Liz."
"Liz, can I feel the baby?" Isabel asks.
"Yes." She says as I say "No."
"It's fine, Max." Liz says. Isabel slides her hand onto Liz's stomach and waits. The baby kicks. Isabel looks stunned. Then she smiles.
My sister and my wife getting excited over the baby. That's what I have wanted. Them getting excited over us having a baby, but I know what's going to happen. The baby will die.
"Brendan, Michael, and I are going to step out a minute." I say. We walk out of the living room and into the kitchen. I close the kitchen door.
"What's wrong, Max?" Michael asks.
I grab Brendan and slam him into the fridge. "Are you working for Kavar?"
"Max, don't. You'll regret it." Michael yells.
"No! Of course I'm not working for Kavar. What is wrong with you?" Brendan yells.
"The baby. I know you saw it. Are you the one making it look like it's sick? Just like Tess. Trying to trick me into flying her to a planet to have the baby. Then enslave us." Max yells.
"The baby's sick?" I turn around to see Liz in the doorway. Isabel is getting her a glass of water. "Isabel, did you see that the baby was sick?"
"I-I...yes." She says, handing her the cup. "Lets get you back to the couch, I'm sure the baby will be fine. Babies get sick in the womb to women all over the planet and they survive." Liz and Isabel left and went to the living room.
"Guys, it will be okay." Michael says. "We can fix it."
