Maestros y Esclavos (A story of DeAnn)

In front of the Maestros

This disgusting buzzing continues until I'm jolted up by Carol's long curly brown hair in my face. "Wake in De! It's your big day!"

"Don't call me De." I growl before she can shake me anymore. 

She immediately backs off with a stunned look on her face like I killed her puppy. 

"No, I'm sorry Carol. It's just that day.... my dad..... the death..... De....." I try to reminisce into my past. 

"No, its ok. You should get dressed. I have your clothes ready for your testing day. You'll be going for your position today." She says with a smile almost like mother's.

I walk over into the lavotory. "AGH!!" I scream when I see this girl with one blue eye and one grey, blonde hair, and dirt. Ewww. "What is this Carol???" I ask in a panic. 

"What?"

"THIS PARALELL UNIVERSE IN THE GLASS!!!" 

"Um.......... that's a mirror DeAnn....."

....... 

"Oh," I say, feeling like an idiot, "what's this thing with the knobs and the silver hose?"

"Thats a shower," she says in an incrredibly slow tone as if I'm an idiot. 

"Sorry....." I say in a tome of shame. 

"I'd suggest you'd take a shower. You'll need to intrigue the Maestros when you are interviewed. "

"Ok.... but can you show me how to turn it on?" I ask.

"Sure, I can see that your colony wasn't very advanced was it? I'll give you a full walk through of everything here."

"Thanks." I say, adding a sheepish smile onto the end.

Carol explains the "shower" and I get in. It feels extremely warm as the wetness falls down my shoulders and into the drain. It's so calming I almost fall asleep. My courage finally brings me up enough to step out into the cold air. I immediately wrap myself in a huge burgundy towel when I'm greeted by Carol with my stack of clothes. "Uh.... thanks." I grab the clothes and dress myself in the bathroom. I turn to the "mirror" and see a brand new girl with brighter hair and no dirt on her face. Wow.......... I think. I'm pretty. 

Carol practically shoves me out the door at 7:45. "Off you go!!!"

I walk into the interview room and I notice the five larger cushioned box-like seats surrounding a small stool. 

"We have in front of us today, Rae Xanthi who is here before us on the account of  being a past viewer........."  as the image vanishes I notice that 5 large wolves stand in front of me.

Theres Kamion with her pretty roan fur, and a sky blue wolf with  white swirls running down her back, a wolf colored black with movements of red and orange in his fur, he's also missing an eye, there's one with green and brown entanglements in his fur, and one with sea blue fur that seems to flow as she moves. I recognize these as the element wolves. I've heard its hard to get four ot of four elements together. Wow, this is one lucky colony. 

The fire wolf opens up I notice his rough accent with a choppy feeling to it, "vell, today  ve 'ave DeAnn. Have we decided her position?"

"Yes, Fire master. She will be inn the sorting rooms with her current roommate Carol."

"I see!" says the sky wolf as she stands and circles around me, her tail running across my face when she passes. "This girl, she's very beautiful. She reminds me  a lot of Rae. To bad she died."

"Yes, she does. Can you stand for me DeAnn?" says the Earth wolf. 

I follow orders and stand. "Walk over to the water over there." I again listen walking over to a small serene pool. "Now walk on top of it."

"Walk on top?' I ask. "Yes." The fire wolf says with force. I walk on top and surprisingly enough I don't sink.

I look back in amazment ant the elemental wolves and Kamion as they all stare at me in amazement.

"You're dismissed. Go to your room for the remainder of the day and join us for dinner at the front table for dinner." Kamion dictates. 

I sit in bed and pace back and forth all day wondering about their decision.
