Chapter 2
The Stare Down
The shocked expression on my face could not describe what I was feeling inside. Inside I was mentally cursing myself for telling Ezra where I lived.
He should not be here, my mind stated as a matter of fact.
Why did he have to come today of all days? I groaned internally and glanced towards Ezra. He looked at me with hopeful eyes and longing. Longing for what I didn't know, but what I did know is that he should leave while things are still calm.
I looked up towards Lucas who was pissed off and fuming with anger. I knew that if I didn't act fast something would happen and I would be the one responsible for the aftermath. Lucas would not let this unexpected visit go unnoticed and I would be the one to receive his fury. In that instance, I not only feared for my life but for Ezra's as well. Who knew what Lucas would do and what he was ultimately capable of?
"Ezra," I stammered trying to capture his attention. He turned his head towards me but was soon looking at Lucas with hatred.
"What are you doing here? And what do you want?" Lucas said laced with venom trying to scare Ezra away. However I knew that his efforts were for nothing because Ezra could not be scared away so easily.
"I came here to see Kylie," he said suddenly "and I won't leave without talking to her."
"Well you should just turn around and leave because your not wanted here,” Lucas said. "Oh and before you leave let me just warn you, don't ever come back because if you do you might regret ever being born. Are we clear boy?”
"For one my name isn't boy, it's Ezra. And secondly I don't scared off so easily so whatever you think will intimidate me just save it because I know how to take care of guys like you." Lucas looked at him with such hatred that I just had to intervene before things escalated.
"Ezra please just go," I said trying to convince him to leave, "please and don't come back for your sake and for mine." Ezra looked at me with a wounded expression but knew that it was for the best. "Alright I will, just take care of yourself will you and be careful,” he said while walking away from Lucas and I.
"I will," I said mostly to myself.
"Do you care to explain why that guy was coming to visit you Kylie?" Lucas shouted at me while roughly closing the door behind himself causing my apartment to slightly shake.
"I-II don't know Lucas I really have no idea why he came. He meant no harm please Lucas let's just forget that any of this happened…” I trailed off trying to distract Lucas with my soft caress. I tried reaching for him but he brushed me off as if I meant nothing to him.
“Oh really and why should I Kylie huh? He’s the one coming to your apartment trying to get your attention.” Lucas stated while raking his hand through his luxurious brown mane. I was so transfixed with his hair that I didn’t realize that he was speaking to me.
“Hmm,” I said dazed by his dashingly good looks.
“As I was saying. You know that you’re going to have to make this up to me right?” He said with an evil glint in his eyes.
Full knowing of what he was talking about I lead him towards my room…
