People shuffled around the the large, crowded warehouse. Bodies crammed into long lines waiting for someone to direct them. Finishing up the last of the scripts for the week I rose from my desk. Papers in hand I strode over to the large oak door pulling it open. A tall, shaggy, black haired man with bad posture stood before me. He smiled, "Saves me the trouble of knocking." He leaned toward me, but I stopped him.
"Nope. Not at work L." Laughing I pushed my way past him, walking down the long, beige hallway behind him. He groaned following behind me walking to the stairs that lead to the main floor. Thousands of characters were gathered there, waiting for their scripts that I held. You probably figured this out, but this isn't the normal world. No this is the 'Anime World' or the 'A.W' as we were so originally named. Our world isn't much different than yours. We are the actors that make your entertainment, and you are the people who give us our paychecks. See we don't use paper money, we use ratings and votes. The higher the rating of your show, the richer you are going to be. The higher your level the more you make as well. Levels are the way you are ranked, kind of like a social standing except it is actually important.
There are five levels, Level One's are the highest ranked. One's are the people who create and execute the production of the shows. The jobs in this level are costume/set designer and panel member. Panel members are those who had high marks in academics and creativity when they were in school, you also can be born from another panel members and have a spot saved for you. This level can also communicate with representatives from the normal world that hide our existence and broadcast for us.
The only other level that can do that is Level Two. This level is made up of one person as of right now. Two's are exceptionally skilled in writing and plotting, which is really hard to come by. One's create ideas for animes and choose characters, but Two's have to set up the plot and write the storyline. The current Two is me, Hatake, Kazue.
Level Three's are the main characters of shows or characters that are important. This is the position everyone shoots for when they get older. Everyone always hopes that the One's will be able to find them nice, popular shows so they can live a nice, rich life.
Level Four's are the people who are either extras or just not as important characters. Nobody aims to be a Four, but those who do end up being Four's live contently for the most part. I think this level is considered middle class citizens in the normal world.
Level Five's are those born with no abilities or are for some reason unable to be in a show or Level's One and Two.
Nearly everyone in A.W is born with abilities that make it easy to place them somewhere. We rarely ever make up abilities in shows, it's generally all real. We don't change names either, but we do change personalities, we are still actors.
I busted through the large double doors leading to the distribution room. There were multiple line chalk full with people anxiously awaiting their scripts. Every line had the name of an show above it to make it easier on the three of us distributors. Sekeri was already seated at the long table waiting for L and me to join her. Most people retire once their animes finish, but some find jobs to preoccupy themselves. L and Sekeri were both apart of finished animes, so they decided that they were going to work in distribution seeing as it was only me six years ago.
"L, you take Shingeki no Kyojin and Bleach, if I'm correct it should be SNK's last episode for the season." I said handing him a stack of scripts, turning to Sekeri, "Sekeri you take Sword Art and Ouran Highschool." She nodded in agreement taking the papers from my hands. Sekeri and I didn't talk much, and I didn't mind it. It's not that didn't like her, I was just to busy to make friends. The girl was short, with shoulder length blue hair. Her skin was dark and her eyes were dark blue. She was a little taller than me, but that's not saying much.
Pulling my thoughts away from the quiet girl I switched them to work, "Uzumaki, Naruto!" I called out. A boy only a few years younger than me bounced up to the table, standing in front of me. He wore an orange and black jumpsuit, he had spiky, blonde hair and pretty, blue eyes.
Grinning he grabbed the script from my outstretched hand, "Thank you, I'll make you proud." He winked and strutted away like a natural born princess.
"He is such a queen." L whispered quietly to me, handing Ackerman, Mikasa her script. She over-heard what L said and laughed. I giggled quietly, nodding my head, calling out for Nara, Shikamaru. The same routine went on everyday.
"Hatake, Kakashi." A white haired man slinked up to the table, standing in front of me with his hand outstretched. He wore a black T-Shirt with dark blue pants. His white hair fell lazily over his left eye, a mask covering the lower half of his face.
"Good morning, Kaz." He said, grabbing the papers I placed in his hand.
"Good morning dad. Hope you like what I wrote for you." I responded to him smiling. He waved and spun on his heels walking away. I called out for the next person as I heard L call for Rivaille. I smiled brightly as my best friend stood in front of the table. "Hey Levi." I said grinning at him. Levi looked at me, his short, black hair framed his face, his dark eyes looked sleepy. He waved slightly, mouthing the words, 'Can't talk now,' before disappearing back into the crowd. "Uchiha, Sasuke!" The raven haired boy walked up to the table. He wore a white zip up shirt, blue pants, and a weird gray thing tied around his waist with a purple rope. Seeing him I nearly choked on my water. "Oh cousin. I love the outfit." He sneered at me, I bit back laughter.
"Naruto likes it, so I wear the embarressing thing." He glanced in the direction of his boyfriend sighing deeply. "See ya." He waddled away, muttering something similar to, 'Damn those One's.' I barked with laughter.
"They are so freaking cute. Oh my gosh." I muttered to L under my breath. Nodding in agreement he handed Leonhardt her script. "Suigetsu." I yelled out reluctantly. The boy who strode up to the table had white hair with blue tips, purple eyes, and he wore a purple shirt with gray pants. "Take it and go." I growled.
"So cold sis. Why do you have to be like that?" He grinned leaning on the table, "Show your little brother a little love now and then." I laughed, shooing him away.
"I have work to do, go play." He scoffed and walked away. Eyes dancing with amusement. What a pest. He looked different from me and dad because he looks more like mom, with his purple eyes and really straight hair. I shook my head, focusing myself. I soon finished up the scripts in my hands.
