On the left of this chapter, you will find a picture of Funky Buddha which is where this Chapter partly takes place. I have another one but Wattpad only allows one per chapter. Hope this update isn't as crummy as I thought it would be! Kissses xx

Chapter 14: Battle Grounds

"Niall you can't be jumping up like that! Doctor Hughes said you need rest!" I scold.
Today there was a football game going on. Derby County vs Brentford.
"Y/N, I'm fine. Stop worrying." He gives me his most winning smile.
He was wearing his favourite jersey and had a bowl of popcorn sitting on the coffee table.
Today Niall was supposed to be helping set up decorations for the TMH release celebration at Funky Buddha. The party was just in two days but with Niall's condition, we're all debating if we should reschedule the party. Niall assured me he'd be fine in time for the party, but me and everyone else rather have him heal.
I stare at the wide white bandage that wrapped from his right knee to his calve. I shiver every time my eyes sneak glances at it. At least there was no blood involved.
I hated blood.
Just as he was about to reach his hand into the popcorn bowl, I slide it out of his reach. He looks up at me with a pout.
"Niall, you need to rest." I say firmly.
"But Y/N-"
"No but's. If you don't rest, your knee won't heal. You want it to heal, don't you?"
He sighs but nods reluctantly.
"Good." I raise him to his feet and wrap my arm around his shoulders. I guided him to the closest guest room to the living room. He limped the whole way, I frowned. I open the white sleek door for him and guide him inside. I took in the view of the guest room. Everything was pure white. White comforter, white carpet, walls, wardrobe

everything.

I settle Niall on the white bed and start taking off his jersey—revealing his bare chest. I gaze at his upper body. His tan was fading. It almost matched the colour of his waist line. The pack in his abdomen seems to get more solid. He must've been working out since I've been...doing my own thing.
He catches me staring and smirks. I turn away from him in embarrassment.
"I-I'm going to go get you some pajamas." I turn back to him and gave him a playfully fierce look. "And please, stay. Stay exactly where you are."
He raises his hands up. "Yes ma'am."
I walk out the door and close the door but not without giving him a small smile.
I fumble with my fingers as I made my way upstairs to his room. As I opened the door

my heart s t o p p e d.

Niall's room was completely trashed. His mattress was lopsided- completely off the frame, his sheets lied strewn across the wood flooring. Clothes were scattered everywhere, obviously ripped from their hangers. One of his wardrobe drawers were split in half as if someone had forcefully threw it at the wall. There was a small dent in the wall. I stared in horror and brought my hand to my lips. My eyes finally landed on the window. It was ajar but broken. Glass shards were hanging from the window like sharks' teeth.

And I knew exactly whose work this belonged to. And I was beyond scared straight.

I slowly stepped into the room, getting greater surroundings of the vandalism. My heart pumps a thousand miles a minute. Darkness filled the air and it wasn't going to leave me alone. I shifted my head towards my right. On the built-in mirror was words painted in red paint:

I told you
But you didn't listen
Now
It's his turn

The paint was still fresh, as it was dripping down the mirror like blood. It still smelled of chemicals that burned my nose if I dared to take a breath. I frantically spin in circles looking for a baby faced boy.
Quickly going to the wardrobe, I get a white t-shirt and black flannel bottoms. Running out of the room as quick as possible, I lock the door to Niall's room and pray that no one tries to go in there.
I went back to my normal pace as I rounded the corner to the guest room Niall was in. I open the door to find him sitting in the same spot in the same position. He hadn't moved an inch since I left. Just like he promised.
His eyes get brighter and he smiles when he sees me.
I walk over to the bed and stood over Niall.
"Arms up." I ordered.
He obeys and I scrunch the shirt up so each arm and his head could easily pass through it. His hair gets ruffled as I slide the shirt on. Moving to his khakis, I unbutton and pull the zipper down. I slide them off his body and exchange them for the flannel bottoms. After putting one leg in after the other, Niall stands up and pulls me into a hug.
"I love you."
"I love you more." I snuggle my head into his chest and wrap my arms around his waist.
"Will you sleep with me?" He asks.
I raise my head towards his.
"Niall, don't push it."
"Please?"
"Niall I have things to do."
"Please Y/N. You need to rest too."
"Niall I-"
"Please?" He begs.
"Niall." I exasperate.
"You're so stubborn." He smirks and shakes his head.
I cross my arms. "You are too."
"PLEASE?!"
"Fine. But don't try anything or we're no longer sleeping in the same bed." I say, defeated.
"That's not fair!" He protests.
"Take it or leave it." I shrug my shoulders.
He sighs. "Y/N, sometimes you just-"
"I know." I say cheekily.
I raise him from the bed and maneuver him to the left side of the bed. He ruffles his blond hair with his hand before sitting down. He stretches his legs but winces when he pulls the bad spot in his knee.
"Lay down, Niall. You'll feel better." I quickly say.
"You too, Y/N." he reminds me.
I sigh and move to the other side of the bed. Pulling the covers down, i take off my top and jeggings along with my t-straps. Climbing in besides Niall, he pulls the green duvet snugly over the both of us.
Within just a few seconds, I could already hear Niall's soft snores. He was knocked out. I watched as his chest rose lightly up and down. His face was as delicate as a sleeping angel. I stroked his cheek and kiss his nose.
I kept my eyes on him until I was confirmed that he was sleeping. When he was, I slowly rose the duvet and slipped out of the bed. I stuff pillows on my side of the bed before grabbing my purple satchel. I quietly rummaged through the bag to make sure I had everything I needed. I felt like I had everything, but there was just one thing that I was missing and unjust couldn't put my finger on it.
I had my keys, sunglasses, Chap Stick, ID, iPhone, water bottle-

the note! That's what I was missing. I started to panic, I quickly searched all parts of my purse and around the room and in my clothing.

Nothing.

It was right there in my bag I swear.
I turn my head towards a sleeping Niall. A thought whispered in my head. But I refused to believe what it was trying to tell me. It couldn't have been him. He promised to stay exactly where he was and he didn't move.
But just to confirm, I went to his jeans and rummaged through the pockets. Nothing in the left, nothing in the right. I look through the front pockets.
In the right pocket he had a single key. I don't know what it's for but I left it alone. As I looked through the left pocket, my fingers caught onto something sticky. Pulling it out, it was the bright yellow sticky note with the terrifying written words by him on it.
My heart raced, Niall saw it.
He saw the note.
And
I didn't know what I was going to do.
He was going to ask my questions about where it came from and who's it from. I couldn't do that. Speaking a word about him would put Niall in more danger than he already was.  Without hesitance, I slip my outfit back on and silently leave the guest room with my satchel.
