10am

"Mummy, mummy, wake up" caroline yelled as she fell on top of her mother.

"Uph" Jackie groaned.

"Can we go see grandad"? bella asked as she too joined caroline on her mother's back.

"I guess we can in a little while" Jackie moaned as she tried to wriggle two giggling girls off her back.

"Where's daddy at"? Caroline asked just now noticing he wasn't in the bed next to her mother.

"I don't know, he should be back later, now go get dressed if you wanna see grandad" Jackie said and both girls jumped off her into the floor and ran into their room.

Jackie rolled over and squinted her eyes trying to see what time it was on the black alarm clock on the table beside the bed, the red numbers started back at her, '10, oh jack where are you' she thought to herself than sighed and climbed out of bed.

Jackie was now dressed in a red sleeveless dress and black pumps, Bella had on a light blue dress with pink and yellow butterflys and white sandals with flowers, Caroline had on a yellow and black striped dress with a bumble bee on the front of it and yellow sandals, right now Jackie was braiding bellas hair into pig tails, when the hotel door came open.

"Daddy"! Both girls exclaimed as Jack came walking into the room and fell on the bed behind them.

"We're going to see grandad" caroline said as she took the seat in front of Jackie and she started braiding her hair into a fish tail.

"Are you coming with us"? bella asked as she jumped onto his back.

"Ugh, my back hurts so bad, please be gentle" jack cried.

"Sorry daddy" Bella cried as she gave him a kiss on the cheek and than jumped off the bed.

"It's ok" jack called after her.

Jackie had just got done with Caroline's hair and so Caroline and Bella started playing with their dolls as Jackie scooted over to jack and started rubbing his back.

"I swear you have magic fingers" jack said

"Hardly" Jackie scoffed
"Feeling any better"?

"Feeling tons better" jack moaned "thank you"

"Your welcome, so where did you end up last night" ? Jackie quietly asked

"I ended up past out in the elevator, got woken up this morning by a rude prudish woman when her damned mutt started kissing me all over the face" jack said

Jackie started laughing "awe the poor dog wanted to make sure you were ok" she said

"Ya, I guess" jack said smiling softly "so we're gonna go see grandpa"?

"Yes, we'll I mean is that OK, the girls want to go see him, to make sure he's ok" Jackie started rambling.

"Yes that's fine, we can go, just let me hop in the shower, real quick" jack said as he jumped off the bed and went into the bathroom.

Parkland memorial hospital

"OK, darlings you have to be quiet, while we're in here, can you do that for me please"? Jackie asked the girls.

"Yes mam" bella and Caroline said together

Jack opened the door and all four of them walked into the dimly lit room.

Rose and rosemary was sitting in two chairs beside of the bed, Joe was laying on the bed just staring at the ceiling, he still had a tube to help him breathe down his throat and some more tubes and wires were connected to him and three huge machine.

"Jack, I missed you" rosemary exclaimed as she got up from her chair and thru herself in his arms.

Jack hugged his sister tightly and said "I missed you too" as he leaned down and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"Jackie, jackie" rosemary than shouted "I missed you too and your so pretty"

"Thank you but I am not near as pretty as you, I just love your dress" Jackie exclaimed as she took Rosemary's hand and spun her around so she could get a better look of her dress.

"Thank you so much, it's my best dress" rosemary exclaimed

"HI Rosie, did you miss me too" ? Bella asked and than her, Caroline and rosemary had a huge group hug and started laughing.

"How is he"? Jack asked his mother as he took the seat beside of her.

"About as well as can be expected" rose said.

"Hiya dad" jack said as he took his father's hand and squeezed it, Joe tried to squeeze his sons hand back, but couldn't and was about to get mad about it.

"Jackie and the girls came with me, the girls wanted to make sure that you were OK" jack said and at those words, Joe's eyes glistened.

"Come here girls, come see grandpa" jack called.

Both girls raced over to jack and climbed into his lap.

"Hey, grandad, I missed you" caroline said as she climbed up on the bed beside of Joe, Bella was right behind her sister.

"I love you grandad" bella exclaimed as she kissed Joe's nose.

You could tell Joe was loving the interaction with the girls, he was trying his best to communicate with them even through it was coming out in gruffs and groans but his eyes were shinning.

A few hours later Bobby, Ethel and Patricia came to visit Joe, so jack, Jackie, rose, rosemary, bella and Caroline left and decided to have supper at McDonald's.

McDonald's play area

"I have never liked this place" rose snapped as she took another bite of her salad.

"I know that mother, but I thought the girls would have a fun time playing" jack said.

Bella, Caroline and rosemary were having a great time running around the Play area and up and down the stairs that were inside of a tree house and down the pink winding slide, all three were laughing and didn't have a care in the world.

"I am glad that grandad, is doing a little better today" Jackie said as she took another sip of her coke.

"Yes me too" jack agreed as he and her shared a smile.

"So when can we leave this awful place"? Rose asked.

"In a little bit" jack said as he jumped up from his seat and grabbed Jackie's hand "come on let's go have some fun".

"In am not going down the slide"! Jackie exclaimed

"Spoils sport" jack hollered over his shoulder and climbed the stairs leading to the slide.

"Hey Jackie catch me" he said inside of the slide.

He came sliding down, almost made it too but he got stuck half way thru, "help me" he yelled

His arms, head and chest was all Jackie could see as she started pulling his hands, slowly and than faster and harder, til finally jack popped out of the slide and him and Jackie ended up tangled up together on the floor.

"My knight in shinning armour" jack exclaimed as he thru his arms around Jackie's neck.

"Oh jack" Jackie sighed and than their lips met and here they were on the floor of the McDonald's play area making out like teenagers.
