Chapter 2

Hey Newts,
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been busy with school. This book is also kind up made up as I go, so I won't be updating as much as I'd like. Please forgive me.

A girl with long brown hair threw her arms up as I walked to her and her car. She started to move her hands as she spoke.

"What took you so long?" She asked. "It's almost 4:30."

I moved my hands as I mouthed my words.

'I'm sorry. I got caught up in the club. Took me a bit to finally leave.'

"Club?" She asked. "What club?"

'It's called the Host Club.' I explained. 'I guess they wanted to welcome me? It was weird.'

I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked over to see Haruhi.

"Don't worry." He said. "You'll get used to them."

"Who's this?" The girl asked.

'This is Haruhi.' I signed. 'He is a member of the club.'

The girl turned to Haruhi and smiled.

"Hi." She said. "I'm Kayla. Jamie's cousin."

"Nice to meet you." Haruhi said as they shook hands. He then turned to me. "See you tomorrow."

I nodded and waved at him as he left. Kayla lightly tapped my shoulder. I turned to her and she motioned to the car. I climbed into the car with Kayla in the driver's seat. She taped my shoulder and I faced her. She couldn't do sign language while driving, so I have to read her lips.

"So that club, what is it all about?" She asked.

'It's some club where guys entertain girls.' I explained. 'They don't really do much. Mostly talk. Each guy does something different. One flirts, one is adorable, like a child, one is just a natural. You met him. One doesn't really talk to the girls. Just does stuff on his clip board. These twins act like a couple for the girls. They're so good at it, I think they might actually be a couple. The last guy is huge. He's like a tree. He hangs out with the child-like guy. He doesn't say anything, but he looks after the kid. He knows sign language.'

"Ooo~" Kayla smirked. "And what do you think of them? Any of them cute?"

I blushed in embarrassment.

'How could you be asking me that?' I asked. 'I just met them, and I just started here.'

"Doesn't mean you can't look at some cuties." Kayla said. "Look, I know you aren't looking for a relationship with a hearing person because of Drake, but you can at least have some fun. You can look at guys. I do."

'You're in college and can hear.' I said. 'Besides, you aren't afraid to hook up. I am.'

"I know, I know." Kayla said. "Just give this school a chance. You did say that they were trying to welcome you. These people could be different."

'They're weird.' I replied. 'One of them calls himself a king, daddy, and is over dramatic.'

"What about the others?" Kayla asked. "That tree guy. What do you think about him?"

'I'll admit.' I said. 'He is pretty cute, but I don't think we'll get together. He seems too focused on the kid. Besides, I'm not looking for a relationship.'

"Oh boo." Kayla replied. "You're so boring. Just say whether or not they're cute. Be girly for me."

'But I'm not girly.' I pointed out.
