So guys this is pretty much like my first real fanfic so comments would be much appreciated, tell me how I'm doing and everything thanks! Enjoy chapter one of Taming the Beast!

It is a cold, rainy day in KONOHA, as a lone ninja trudges through the storm, eager to reach his destination. The rain pours down in torrents, lightning flashing, and thunder booming.
The ninja curses as lightning strikes the ground in front if him. He does a back hand spring and lands on his feet, only to see another bolt of lightning coming his direction, he jumps to the side and sprints toward the trees, still cursing the storm.
Under the cover of the trees he relaxes and assesses his situation "it is nearly dark, this storm could go on for the rest of the night, he was drenched but had no tent or dry clothing. The village was still a full days run ahead if him. He needed to keep going" he decides as another bolt of lightning flies at him through the trees, to quickly to dodge.
The ninja throws up a hand, griping his right wrist with his left hand, gathering chakra to his palm, so much that it becomes visible with the sound of a thousand birds.
"Lightning blade!" He yells leaping at the lightning, throwing out his chakra infused hand. The lightning dissipates as he flips through the air back to the ground, his hand looking slightly charred.
He lands in a squatted position, quickly leaping to his feet, hearing movement to his right he leaps sideways, reaching back and sliding a kunai from his weapons pouch, tossing it toward the noise, hearing a squeal. A young girl tumbles from the bushes, his kunai imbedded in her chest. She faints, never having noticed the man before her.
She hits the ground with a thud, the ninja racing to her side. He pulls the kunai from her chest and begins bandaging the wound, as she begins to stir. She tries to sit up but the man holds her down.
"You're hurt, let me finish bandaging the wound, once I'm done I'll take you to my village to have that looked at. I'll make sure you get the best care the hidden leaf has to offer."
She nods, ceasing her attempts at sitting up. She studies the man only taking in a few minor features before her consciousness slips from her once again.
The ninja sets back to work, finishing up with his bandaging saying as he does "I'm Kakashi" not knowing whether she heard him before he consciousness left her.
He finishes the bandaging and stands, scooping the girl up into his arms. He sweatdrops "she's heavier than she looks" he thinks "either that or he's just that exhausted"
He looks down at the girl, taking in her features, she looked to be eleven or twelve, has very long black hair, and is short for a girl of her age and he could of swore that when he saw her eyes open earlier they had been a dark purple color.
He sighs, focussing chakra into his legs, taking off in a dead run, his infused legs carrying him and the girl quickly towards the Leaf Village.

A COUPLE HOURS LATER

Kakashi slows his pace as he enters a very familiar looking piece of forest. The Leaf Village was only about two hours away now.
"Almost there" Kakashi thinks aloud and to his surprise, gains a response.
"Kakashi!" A talk man, wearing a green jumpsuit, with busy eyebrows and a bowl cut appears before the silver haired ninja "My eternal rival! I challenge you to a sparring match, right here, right now!"
Kakashi sweatdrops "Gai can't you see I'm rather loaded down at the moment" he says, noticing Gai's closed eyes.
Gai opens his eyes "Excuses!" He yells, boticing the unconscious girl "Well, it seems you are busy, we'll continue this later!"
He disappears in a puff of smoke, causing Kakashi to sweatdrop again "Now I can keep moving"
He takes off, once again infusing his legs with chakra, starting to feel the effects of his Chakra expenditure. He pushes his weariness from his mind and keeps moving. He would have to have the next few days off, before he met his new genin in four days.
He slows his pace as he passes the memorial stone. This was the place where he had his first challenge as a genin. Minato sensei's bell challenge, the same challenge he now uses to test the abilities of his own genin. So far not one of his teams had taken to the purpose of the test. Hopefully this year would be different.
Kakashi feels the girl in his arms growing cold, and reinfuses his legs with chakra, taking off at full speed towards the hospital.. Hopefully he could make it.
