Katelyn's POV
As I walked by the main set, making sure to stay behind the cameras, I saw Chandler filming a pretty intense scene with Andrew and Steven.
I wanted to ask him about the flowers just to see if he knew anything about it. I decided to ask him before we film our first scene.
I sighed and continued walking to the makeup trailer.
Once I opened the door, Benji, the makeup artist, turned toward me.
"Aw, Katelyn!" he yelled, outstretching his arms.
I smiled. He put both of his hands on my face and kissed both of my cheeks.
"I missed you, my little ray of beautiful sunshine!" he yelled extravagantly.
"I missed you, too," I replied, a little overwhelmed. "How's your boyfriend?"
"Oh, he's amazing, darling," he sighed. He snapped his fingers. "Ah!" He turned his back to me and opened the closet. He pulled out my outfit and handed it to me.
"Here you are," he said. "A little birdy gave this to me. Go ahead and change. I won't look."
He turned around and closed his eyes.
I just stood there awkwardly.
He turned back to me a moment later. "I'm just kidding, sweetie," he laughed. "I'll go outside and you knock on the door when you're ready."
I nodded and he walked out.
I quickly stripped my normal clothes off and put on the dirt and blood covered costume.
I looked at myself in the mirror. Enid's style hadn't changed that much in the 6 years that I hadn't played her.
I was wearing a pain purple long sleeve shirt made of rough cloth, dirty jeans, and combat boots. The only thing that was different was I wore a simple engagement ring on my left ring finger. I stared at it for a moment, as if it were mine.
When I was done, I went to the door and knocked.
Benji walked back in and gasped at the sight of me.
"Oh, darling," he praised. "You look stunning!"
I thanked him.
He had me sit down in the chair in front of the mirror.
I watched him as he started on my hair. He made small tangles in it with his teasing brush. When he was done, he pulled the whole thing into a messy ponytail, exactly like Enid would.
He then started on my makeup.
Most girls would expect to have eyeshadow that looked flawless and lipstick that complemented their eyes or whatever. Whereas I watched as Benji smudged dirt and blood on my cheeks and on my eyes.
Once he was done with my face, he started working on my neck and arms.
He took a few moments working on the engagement ring, carefully smudging it.
Once he was done, he pressed the tips off all his forefingers together and kissed them like a French chef.
"Vuala!" he yelled. "I am done!"
I looked at my reflection. At first, I was a little surprised at how dirty I was being that we stayed in a safe zone, but then I remembered that Alexandria had been destroyed in season 8.
I thanked Benji and walked out of the trailer.
I walked back to the set. Chandler, Andrew, and Steven were still filming so I decided to sit and watch them until they were done.
I recounted the people that were no longer working with us. Michael had gone since Abraham was killed by Negan in the season 7 premiere.
Danai and Norman were no longer here since Michonne and Daryl died in the series finale.
As they finished the scene, I looked at the filming schedule and realized that the scene with me, Chandler, and Carl and Enid's daughter was next.
"Alright!" the director yelled. The director of this movie was Neil Druckman, the creative director of The Last of Us. I had gotten to meet him before we started shooting and he is the nicest guy I have ever met. "I need to see Chandler, Katelyn, and Jessie for the next scene!" I guessed that Jessie was playing Beth.
The three of us gathered around Neil and I took a look at Jessie. In terms of looks, they had casted well. She was a perfect mixture of me and Chandler. It was quite creepy. She looked to be around 4, which is how old Beth was. She had long hair with a color that resembled Chandler's. She also had my green eyes and olive skin.
Neil turned to me. "Katelyn, I want you to do this scene with the idea that you're sending your husband off on this extremely dangerous run and you don't know if he will come back. You plead to go with him but be denies saying that you need to stay here to care care of your daughter. You're terrified for him but you try to be strong for Beth."
I nodded determinedly and walked off to the side so he could talk to Jessie and Chandler.
Once he was done, I quickly walked up to Chandler.
"Hey," I said. "Can I ask you something?"
He turned to me in confusion. "I thought you were mad at me," he said dully.
"I am," I confirmed. "But that's besides the point. The point is that I found these roses in my dressing room this morning. Do you possibly know anything about it? Like who left them?"
Chandler thought for a moment before shaking his head. "Nope," he said. "Not a clue."
I sighed in defeat. "Okay, well, thanks, anyway."
He nodded and we walked off to shoot the scene.
