Mimi is getting released from the hospital today. Her headache is gone and the doctors don't see a concern for her health anymore, but Scott is still nervous. He wants to be happy that Mimi felt comfortable enough to share what really happened, but he feels scared for her. Scott knows how deep his feelings are continuing to grow and it makes him nervous around Mimi; he's afraid she doesn't feel the same.
"Hey Matt." Scott works with Matt today and they found out that they may be able to go out on the field.
"Hey Scott. Steve has confirmed that he needs us on that case today. You ready?"
"As I'll ever be. At least I don't get nervous anymore." They both laughed, "Mimi told me that Rose's birth mom is coming to town." Matt looked to Scott, trying to read his expression.
"Yeah, she is." Matt looked down at the floor, "She's the girl I'm going on a date with this weekend. That's why I need you to watch Rose." Matt shifted on his feet nervously.
"I see. Does Mimi know?" Matt shook his head, "Do you think she'll get upset when she finds out?"
"I don't plan to tell her unless the date this weekend goes well. I think it would upset her that I'm going back to my ex, but I was married to her and had a baby with her."
"A baby that she didn't raise. What happened?"
"She wasn't ready to be a mom. She's younger than me, not as young as Mimi, but she just felt that Rose would be better off without her. But now she's grown up and is ready to take responsibility."
"Does she think she can be Rose's mom? Because you know that isn't the case."
"I do know that, Scott. But Mimi isn't Rose's biological parent. She didn't adopt Rose, like we had planned. We divorced before the adoption was finalized. I'm nervous, for obvious reasons, but I think it'll be okay."
"Does this woman know about Mimi? That she's raised Rose and is her mother."
"Not exactly. I told her that I had married and Rose is doing well, but I didn't tell her that Rose sees Mimi as her mom. I think it'll be okay." Matt walked off, getting ready to head onto the field. But Scott had a nervous feeling in his stomach. He didn't want this woman to hurt Mimi's feelings, or for Matt to.

Scott and Matt got back to the station. They had to deal with a robbery, but it went well, "I really enjoyed being out on the field again." Matt stated, "I hated sitting at those desks all the time."
"I agree. Do you think Steve will continue to let us go out?"
"I'm pretty sure that's the plan. They lost two officers last week on the job; a shooting. They both got killed, and were partners. So now he's hoping to replace them with us." Scott nodded. His number one fear on the field is dying, or being the cause of his partner's death. But he hoped that that wouldn't happen with him and Matt.

"Hey Scott, come here." Matt called to Scott from his cubical.
"Yeah?" Scott leaned on Matt's cubical, curious.
"Rose's birth mother, Julie, is in town now. She just got in." Scott nodded, "She'll be staying at my place. I have an extra room and she doesn't want to check into a hotel on a weekday. Do you think you could pick Mimi up from the hospital and take her home tonight? They're keeping her until you get off, but I can't do it. And you want to be around her as much as possible so I figured you wouldn't mind."
