사랑 Love [ BaekSoo ] | Book Two

ＣＨＡＰＴＥＲ ＩＩＩ

A loud bang sounded behind Kyungsoo and he could hear the tips of the mountains beginning to crumble. He didn't dare look back as he ran through back alleys behind the larger village houses with puppy Chanyeol shaking in his arms.

He never was one to like loud noises.

Kyungsoo hummed the tune to the song Chanyeol had written for him to calm his small puppy. Thankfully, it worked and by the time he made it to the others at the very back of the village, the puppy in his arms had completely calmed down regardless of the loud explosions that are dangerously close now.

"Where's Sehun?!" Luhan yelled as another explosion sounded.

Kyungsoo sighed. "He's not coming for reasons and we need to go ahead or else his reasoning would be in vain."

The deer looking boy was going to protest when Yixing grabbed his hand and kept him from trying to run back after Sehun. "Where are we even going Soo?" Baekhyun asked as he moved to stand next to him."

"To a bunker out deep in the woods." He answered while walking ahead of all the boys and then stopping. "I don't know where it is other than straight ahead somewhere so if you're okay with following someone with little to no plan then I suggest we leave now."

Kyungsoo walked out through a back passage from the village and into the thick forest. Baekhyun moved to walk beside him and the rest of the boys followed behind silently. The explosions had momentarily stopped and everything went deathly quiet.

No screams from the villagers. No loud noises erupting from seemingly no where. Just silence.

Once the group of eight were a decent distance from the village, a bright glow suddenly erupted from behind them. They all stopped and turned around only to see smoke and flames far off in the distance.

They set the entire village on fire.

Gun shots and explosions filled the air instantly and quickly the group of eight took off running. They ran until they came across a dip in the land that ended up being more than a dip.

Kyungsoo took the initiative to look around it and suddenly found a green colored door that blended in almost perfectly with the surroundings. Everyone watched him curiously as he passed puppy Chanyeol over to Baekhyun and slowly opened the door. Inside was more than they could have ever hoped for.

Large open space completely surrounded by thick concrete and enough supplies inside to last them for months on end if the situation called for it. Everyone rushed in as the flames grew closer. Kyungsoo made sure everyone was inside before closing the opening behind them, drowning out the sounds of gunshots and explosions.

"How long are we supposed to stay down here?" Minseok asked as he held Jongdae's hand tightly.

Kyungsoo shrugged his shoulders while sitting himself down on the floor. "I don't know." He answered honestly as he took off his backpack and rested it against the nearby wall. "As long as it takes for the fire to end and for the Officials to leave this general area."

"Officials?"

"The shadow figures." Kyungsoo explained to Luhan and Yixing. "They're the reason we all fled from the town we used to live in. We were being targeted and were going to be executed sooner or later."

Baekhyun sat down next to him and placed puppy Chanyeol between them both. "I think a few days should be enough to wait it out." He said as he looked to everyone.

Jongdae nodded his head. "Sounds good to me, but why didn't Sehun come with us?"

"Yeah, he should be here." Zitao then spoke up.

Kyungsoo awkwardly laughed as he looked down to his hands and then back up to the other boys. "Back when Suho was murdered, the Official's caught him and it was either he becomes their spy or he dies there as well." He said which made everyone immediately start mumbling 'traitor' under their breaths. "He wasn't a traitor." Kyungsoo quickly spoke up. "He did it in order to get us all out of the village, made sure we had this place to hide, and will give us updates on what the governments next plans are. He wasn't out to get us, he's trying to protect us."

Everyone went quiet after that. They looked between each other for a bit and then all agreed that they should rest for the night.

Once the lights were off down in the bunker, everyone went to their own areas and tried to fall asleep. Minseok with Jongdae. Zitao with Jongin. Luhan with Yixing. And Baekhyun with Kyungsoo.

As Kyungsoo lied there on the floor with Baekhyun next to him and puppy Chanyeol on the other side, he couldn't seem to fall asleep as he listened to the gun shots and explosions off in the distance.

"Are you still up..?" Baekhyun whispered while shifting slightly closer to the older boy.

"Hm?" Kyungsoo hummed while glancing over to Baekhyun in the darkness. "Yeah why?"

Baekhyun was quiet for a few minutes before sighing. "I wanted to ask you something." He said honestly.

"Then ask."

"N-Never mind..."

Chuckling, Kyungsoo allowed for Baekhyun to cuddle up to his side as he tried to hide his embarrassment. "You're shy." Kyungsoo commented.

"Shut up." Baekhyun mumbled into his shoulder.

The two didn't speak anymore after that as they just enjoyed each other's warmth. It felt like ages since Kyungsoo felt so comfortable around someone when in reality, it was only a little over a month ago when he was cuddling with Chanyeol in that dark cave out in the woods.

Could this be the same thing..? Could he really let someone else into his heart, let alone, Chanyeol's younger brother..?

Does he even have it in him to try for a second time?
